Hes a really really good player but the amount G Nev over hypes is mental

He said he saved them last night he scored a peno, he also said his assist saved them against Wolves, he passed a ball to Rashford that Rashford made into a goal with the help of a deflection, Theres a difference between creating a goal with a assist and passing to someone who then goes on to score

But he is a fabulous player

He is what Coutinho at his best was to Liverpool, and a great player to watch. But that United team is set up for him, and he thrives on it. Not sure he'd be as good in a Klopp/Pep team.

Love watching him but also prefer Grealish

Is there a contingency plan in place if there's mass cancelations?

Not sure if anything was agreed by clubs which is pretty ludicrous.

They agreed back in September that points per game would be used to decide the league in the event it can't be finished. They didn't agree on how many games needed to be played before they could call it.

Spurs probably the hardest test for this Leeds team the way they play, Jose is 100% in career games against Bielsa, he'll let them dominate play but pick off the naivety on quick breaks.

Did they though? I thought so too, but wasn't sure.

Found this article that says no contingency in place.

The Premier League does not have a plan in place for a curtailment of the 2020-21 season if an escalation in positive COVID-19 tests leads to the campaign being halted, sources have told ESPN -- a situation described as 'embarrassing' by a source at one top-flight club.

    Oh that’s weird... it had sounded wrapped up back in September;
Premier League clubs have signed off on using a points-per-game system if the season is ended early by the coronavirus pandemic. The plans for curtailment were agreed at the last shareholders meeting but were formally voted in on Tuesday, the PA news agency understands.A threshold of how much of the season needs to be played has yet to be agreed.

They must’ve never done the ‘rubber-stamping’ that was understood?

I found a few articles about it the other day when I was looking, none from any great sources mind. Footy365 and yahoo and the likes!

    https://www.football365.com/news/premier-league-points-per-game-coronavirus

The article you linked to mentions they came to an agreement in September that it'd be a last resort option to curtail it, presumably they agreed how they'd do it if they had to and thats where the points per game stories came from.

That whole sequence was embarrassing from Leeds

Meslier is dodgy playing out from the back.

On the VAR that looked like Bergwijn kicked his left foot into Alioski.

Spurs should break the bank for Grealish, they need a third quality player up there as Bergwijn is so far off the required level.

Why would he go there? United will have to have a strong 6 months to show they're at the level to be constant title contenders domestically and in Europe.

Spurs aren't even THAT much better than Villa right now and aren't the kind of club that show the ambition to sign obvious players to challenge City and Liverpool (and United if they maintain what they've done recently).

Just watching BT - its not actually a penalty, but surprise surprise, Peter Walton says its "on the line", despite the evidence.

I don't feel as strongly about it as you seem to, but I think I'd edge towards it being outside aswell rather than on the line aswell.

You would think that this is something VAR could definitively determine similar to offsides, like they endeavoured to do in Southampton v Brighton (although people still disagreed with that decision aswell)

VAR needs to be made more transparent like in rugby. We have no idea what was looked at for the Spurs penalty there and how thorough it is.

I don’t think people would be as annoyed about long checks if you could actually here want the ref on the field and VAR ref were saying to each other.

I do think that the rabidness of football supporters is a problem with this though.

Referees could become a whole different level of hate figure if we were listening to what they were saying also and people didn’t like how that affected their team/interests

Spurs player was 90% in the box, How can you say Leeds player tackled part of the player, but not the actual player . Only part of him outside the box was a foot.

Here is a STONEWALL penalty, given as a foul on the keeper. That's some weed smoking VAR sht right there.

Where did I say any of that in my post? I wrote about wanting to hear what the VAR ref is saying just like you can in rugby.

VAR never reversing to a penalty in a situation like that, but if the idiot referee hadn’t blown his whistle they should have had a goal without even the need for a penalty.

The same referee had a howler in the VAR booth during the week on a handball for Palace against Leicester. The problem seems to be that some of the referees just aren’t good.

    Now there's a philosophical conundrum.

I think the FA should first clarify the nature of man.

Sheff Utd only name 6 out of 9 subs. Covid?

And the nature of team. If you foul one of us do you not foul all of us? I say pens all round if a player is fouled when any member of his team is in the box.

Sheffield United 1 down already. Some turnaround from last season

I think it was entirely predictable though although maybe not quite THIS bad.

Lots of championship level players in that team who had the season of their lives together collectively last year.

Losing O’Connell and Henderson at the back has killed them. The drop from Henderson to Ramsdale is monumental - I’ve absolutely no idea why they went with Ramsdale as his replacement tbh. He was garbage last year too. Had to be better options out there.

Last season they built from that really solid foundation at the back. Without that, everything else in their game plan crumbles.

A goal well worth watching from Eze. He looks a real talent, I think he could be the subject of a big money transfer in a year or two.
