Be interesting to see if they procede with 1m social distancing in the Dail or not...

    From the article:
" On the one-metre physical distancing, the report said the Oireachtas Health and Safety Committee does not support the proposal although its opinion is advisory "

    https://www.rte.ie/amp/1167219/?__twitter_impression=true

    I'd imagine not.

As a “veteran educator”, you should surely be able to tell us what “school count” is?

Is it the number of cases in schools? Or is it the number of schools in which there was at least one case? Or is it the number of schools in which there were outbreaks?

And does it include cases discovered in, say August, now all closed?

Look, stop crying and put me on ignore if I upset you that much.

No need to pull a teacher strop.

I’ve asked you a reasonable question, which you have failed to answer.

    I'd imagine not.

How can they justify finding it safe for schools but not for the Dail? It doesn't make sense.

It’s not safe for schools ... we all know that. But it’s also not safe for hospitals, nursing homes, shops etc.

There seems to be a rising tension re schools, possibly because of the ASTI ballot and rising cases but a lot of parents seem to be asking questions about the setup on their children's schools. Hopefully this can be turned in to political pressure and will mean schools are made safer than they are now.

Looks like the same cloak and dagger stuff with regards to schools is occurring in England.

    That is absolutely true.

But the problem is that many of the teachers on Boards are saying that "all teachers" worked during lockdown. This is simply not true, and gives cover to those who did not work. This tacit, unquestioning support of teachers who refused to do online/hybrid is a real problem.

From my observations there was not one teacher on this thread who defended, or supported, your admission of downing tools during the lockdown. You have been heavily criticised, and rightly so, for abdicating your responsibilities. Please find a quote from another teacher to support your assertion about "all teachers". Please find a quote from any poster who gave unquestioning support to your refusal to engage with the children in your care.

    What responsibilities were abdicated?

Poster in question admitted to downing tools when it came to teaching/supporting her secondary students during lockdown. Boasted about it on here and didn't react very well when pulled up on it.

There were plenty of teachers who claimed that “all teachers” worked through lockdown. Have a look back through the thread and I’ll quote a few posts of you can’t find any.

And let’s be honest here ... I’m getting attacked for highlighting this and challenging teachers. I’m not going to engage any further about this, but most fair minded people will make up their own minds about why I’m getting attacked.

And it appears that many of those doing the attacking are the very people who are intolerant of any questioning of teachers, I.e. the so called “teacher bashers”

Any response to the 200 question?

Quote the posts please, as you stated.
You have been attacked for your admission of doing nothing by posters from all backgrounds, and for the hypocrisy of you criticising teachers for doing nothing.
Anyway I look forward to the posts claiming "all teachers" worked through lockdown.

Do you honestly think the poster in question is being attacked?

Go have a look at their posts from the April/May time period to get a snapshot of their attitude.

Also the amount of in thread warnings they have been given by mods regarding how they conduct themselves.

I know a primary school teacher (6th class) who sent 3 'homework' emails from March to end of June. There was about 3 days of work in each email.
The kids had nothing to do for most of lockdown. None of their homework was checked, zero feedback.

Ah sure, everyone knows the last few months of 6th class are a big wind down for them anyway.

That's just totally wrong. Assuming the parents had a chat with the teacher/school over it.

I will take it you don’t know, and that you are deliberately hyping up false information to encourage people to down tools and close the schools.

If they were wouldn't the posters in question be carded by the mods and warned in thread as normally happens. Hasn't happened once.

How to keep schools open? Hmm maybe could the two teachers going home in the car together, one dropping the other on the way, keep their masks on:rolleyes: Was facepalming when I saw them.

Eventually yes. Many parents assumed it was up to themselves. Small school, teacher was 'old school'. Principal couldn't care less. I think the 3rd email was longer ;)

Could I please beg some of you to stop quoting the head the balls, teacher haters and repetitive I was lazy too posters on this thread. I've a few posters on my ignore list and quoting them is letting me see their same drivel all over again.

Hmm? You've been here ALL day. ALL day.

Now slither away to another thread me little pal.

Not necessarily. Doesn’t always play out that way.

After all there is one poster who described another as “weird........with no children.......prowling round the site”

I’m not sure what meaning you would put on this sort of stuff, but I know what meaning I put on it.

And that poster carries on, and on.
