Science versus religion and being looked down upon always interests me. One thing where it really could integrate is string theory and infinite versions of universe. Reincarnation into that could fit quite well. Don't know much about it really but I never disregard something just because I don't believe in it.

I think the whole science Vs religion thing is a my cars faster than yours kind of childish debate.

That's why I don't frequent the Atheism and Agnoticism forum, they're very much strident and the moderators favour the Atheists more than Agnostics and Theists

They claim to be more intelligent and articulate over there, but I'm not convinced to be honest.

I am definitely neither. I think that there could be a clash as there is a inherent difference of opinion.

There's always a clash over there, and the only humour accepted is joke's about the hazzards of beliefs and taking the piss out of religion.

If one takes a shot at Atheism they're all in like a bunch of knuckle dragging Neanderthal's squaring up to you and chasing you out the door..
It used to be fun there, now it's like a semi polluted village pond with a few old pike lurking around snapping at anything that dares to enter except their own types.

It's like Shannon Airport, tumble weed's and nothing flying in or out...

Mind you im not completely closed to the idea. I find it beyond logical that we are only on this earth for a few decades and then never exist again. This body is our earth suit as such and this planet is our school where we address, evolve and mature any aspects of our being that need attention. Does this happen successfully every lifetime? Of course not so you may have to repeat it a few times before you can evolve spiritually.

It’s so sad that we forget though if that’s the case. Will we ever remember all our lives and who is our real family which life ...

It's not past lives but future ones we should worry about.

I'm very much a doubting Thomas, I don't believe anything unless I see proof of it. I used to have extremely vivid dreams of being on the front line in the 1st world war. Watching bombs go off over the top of the trenches as if I was there. More recently I was watching a trailer for the movie 1917 after having a couple of drinks with my wife. I became very upset and started having flash backs. She turned the tv it was bothering me that much. :(

Usually i have no problems watching WWII movies etc but something about WWI that triggers it.

Past lives, Ffs, I've never heard anything more ridiculous.

I believe in Ouija boards, and ghosts, and the Settlers of Catan, and that's it. that's where I draw the line.

Hard to know where to post this as I want serious answers but can’t find anywhere where those annoying mods won’t moan about my post...
Recently I’ve heard more and more people speaking about “past lives” or I was such and such in my past life etc. Are people just becoming more mental or am I missing something?
Who believes in past lives and why do they know all about them and I know nothing...
You mean hindus sikhs jains and buddhists?

OP Here is a bit of a doozy. Apparently this may be a prison planet, Remote viewers followed souls that past on, and it ain't good.
Different remote viewers saw the same thing. We enter into a light, get our minds scrambled and we get sent back down here.

Wonderful, there's no escape even after death.

Since 1900 the population of the planet has increased from 1.6 billion to 7.8 billion people as of March 2020.
Where did the extra 6.2 billion "reincarnating souls" come from?

Yes, I'm sure you would have been more in your element then.

Cannot believe I am actually arguing this - but the 7.8 billion now is only a logical problem if it was greater than the totality of humanity which has died.

My problem with reincarnation has always been the moral side - do something wrong one life then you will have a **** existence in the next. However who comes back as Hitler?/

I don't believe in reincarnation but is there something to be said for the fact that we are all composed on energy that existed since the big bang. So while our consciousness hasn't been around before, our sub atomic structures have been around for ever.

Eventually your body will decompose into the soil, make it's way back into the food chain, and eventually into another human at some point.

    So, what is consciousness then?

    So, what is consciousness then?

It's separate from the human brain for starters, so it don't come from there.
Apparently we are shards/pieces of the Omni consciousness that was there before the big bang and there now.

If you fancy you are still connected to thoughts from one of your former bird brains, you're more than welcome.

That's a bit rude! He asked what you think consciousness is. What do you think it is, in the here and now?

Not trolling but just curious. Is the belief of reincarnation based along the same faith based beliefs as religion?I have experienced deja vu but never thought nothing of it.But with reincarnation one would think that there is no new souls. I guess you would call it,being produced. So are we all just recycled entities?
