Bloom was held for 10 hours a day over 5 days, with never more than a few thousand coming or going at any one time.

By its nature, concert traffic is concentrated into peaks of 60,000 before and especially afterwards. Its a small price to pay for an excellent programme of summer events.

Well, we were seriously inconvenienced in terms of access to and from our place yesterday. I can only speak for myself and my neighbours.

My neighbours are in full agreement, and our management company will be lodging an official complaint with Aitken Promotions and Dublin City Council on the issue. We also had no consultation on these huge concerts being held this weekend.

If you were consulted, what input would you have given?

What a mess in the park after those concerts. Rubbish everywhere. People become so inconsiderate when they're in large groups like that.

Fantastic weekend for the area - massive economic boost to the area around the Park and the weather showed the Park in all it's beautiful glory. The vast majority of locals understand there will be some disruption but realise the benefits outweigh any pathetic complaints about very short delays getting into your estate.

    Yeah it was fantastic alright.

I agree about the litter though. More needs to be done to restrict what people bring along with them that could become litter, and food and drink receptacles provided in the venue should be all compostable.

Had a friend who went for a run in the park before 7am on Monday and said it was really messy, but i ran on Monday evening and it was in great condition. Ran a lot of the trails where blowing rubbish might accumulate and saw nothing unusual. Impressive cleanup. Might even be cleaner than before the concerts.

You need to complain to the OPW who sanctioned the use of the Park for these concerts.

They have already made the Iveagh Garden unusable for most of the summer.

Yeah that would be my experience of it too.

Since the Swedish House Mafia debable, ten or more years ago now, there does seem to be much stiffer requirements on the promoters and operators, and in order to keep getting their summer licence, they do seem to be on top of their obligations.

Can people still use the park whilst concerts are taking place? Eg go for a walk/run etc.

If so at least you can use it. St Annes is just closed off whilst the concerts took place - its a disgrace.

Have no problem with traffic disruptions etc but the whole park cannot be closed.

Not answering your question (but I think so!) but I remember marshalling at the Phoenix Park Motor Races over 20 years ago. We'd often get joggers hopping the public barriers to run along the Chesterfield Ave footpath - even when there was racing taking place. Generally, they'd wait for the race to stop (or turn and run in a different direction) but I can recall one occasion where a jogger told us how they along ran there every day and two pricks in orange overalls wouldn't stop them - they were going to cross the asphalt regardless of any warnings from us. I think the safety car was deployed until they had left the circuit.

    Absolutely you can, yes.

Everything west of Chesterfield Avenue and south of Ashtown Castle carries on as normal, including the Zoo and what not.

There are some limitations to parking, but nothing insurmountable.
