The next A321XLR, EI-XLU, still has its tail in primer but was at least on the move in Hamburg this week.

This aircraft was previously seen stored for a number of months with a white tail and bare fuselage before going in for paint, however it emerged with its tail removed. It was then seen sporting this primer tail which it has had since early April.

I wonder does the fuselage need repainted again. Theres patches that aren’t painted.

Looks like there was a panel on the belly fairing replaced.

I know it's wishful thinking but it would be cool if the next A321XLR was painted in a retro livery, especially the iconic 1975 livery.

The current commercial/brand team are against the idea of any more retro liveries on the fleet so this is unfortunately highly unlikely

Arguably, the "retro livery" fashion has dissipated to a degree in Europe. Some, such as the LOT, TAP and SAS ones, remain but Lufthansa, KLM, Air France and Iberia are amongst those carriers which have dropped the idea in favour of the standard livery fleetwide. The only remaining BA one is the BEA-liveried A319 and it is expected to be retired from the fleet later this year.
