    I’ve posed this before but if you gave EI an unlimited amount of A330/A339s, and forced them to use them, I suspect the first non North American route would be about 11th on the list. Point being I wouldn’t expect any change in the route development model any time soon.

    Going west has geographical advantage. It's a geographical disadvantage going east. Further, competing against Far East and Mid East carriers with much lower costs and limited brand recognition. Not to mention a very different service and catering offer to pax compared to ME3/THY.
