The site I’m working on opened last week, (construction)
It’s by no means essential work, as much i want to go back I’m a bit pissed with it tbh.

Plenty of that sh@t going on around the country.

A few days ago it was a "disgrace" "stay at home" "there's way more traffic on the roads" "we need to continue the Lockdown"

Now it's "open everything up" "2 more weeks of this!" So which is it? Such a crowd of morons

This site isn't just you and one other person. All those usernames are different people with different opinions.

Don’t mean to be flippant but assuming many people will actually still have a job.
Sorry not sure I didn’t see that mentioned.

Is this site really slow for everyone? Id love to debate more but this is slowly doing my head in

Leo coming across very poor tonight on the Late Late Show. He seems a bit out of touch on it all. Very surprised as I thought he was always well cluded in.

He was awful, I really lack confidence in him after that.

Construction sites to open up on the 18th

    Is that correct?

Most are back Tuesday, some are back already.

Phase so August at the earliest and that's on a phased basis. Way I see it is is September if you're able to work at home with no issues in doing your job.

"Take back control!"..."We're fed up with experts". Now why does that sound familiar...?

Leo has always been an "empty suit". Great at the oul speeches and soundbites for the press. Not so much at actual delivery and results.

    This is nothing new.

No one major or anyone that is actually big or good at what they do because if they did they risk being shut down for good.

Very surprised. I know he a lot on his plate put he needs to have all his prep done & be up to speed for a tv interview specially the late late show.

Lots of counties around us are starting to open up already. I'm debating if I should hop on a flight somewhere with my partner because I can't stay like this in Ireland until August at a minimum.

You're free to go on holidays once those countries are accepting travel. But the 2 week isolation thing on return here is the kicker. If you can facilitate that then it's an option.

It was actually shocking, I'm sure he knew exactly what Tubs was going to ask. Bringing the sheet of paper out of his pocket, was actually embarrassing.

Is the legislation still to be enforced by the gardai on 18th?

    Surely not?

What 2 week isolation is this?
Not being smart but people entering the country are under no obligation to isolate for 2 weeks.

"Well, yeah, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man"

Just look at China: shutdown the whole city at the end of January. No one allowed to leave.
As a result now they have 80k cases in a 1.39 billion country. and about 700 active cases now. And most of the businesses are fully operational now. no moving restrictions.

Ireland: got the first cases in the end of February. Now we have 4 times higher incident rate than in Hubei province alone, or 70 times higher then in a whole country. And hopefully have most of restrictions lifted at the begin of August.

I get your point but you can't compare China, a country with a full decision making on its internal/external travel protocol, to Ireland which is part of an EU free travel area and the FTA with the UK.

What happened to "all we want is a clear plan?" We have a clear plan, and people are still complaining.

Because it's not the plan they wanted

I see that offices may start to reopen on June 8th, I wonder how long WFH will remain in place?

We dont have a government, most here wont realise that

Fintain it would appear that you have recently joined boards simply to post criticism about the politics you dont like. Most of oddly enough on the Corona forum. Fair enough I suppose - but I hope you at least getting paid for it because most of the comments like the above are complete tripe.

Many sites never really stopped. Plenty of smaller sites kept going the last few weeks, with the good weather.
