Doesn't make them bad people? They are effectively saying that it serves people right for not doing as god wants them to.

Of course, the next question to them should be what needs to change, and I'd put good money on them being of the view that everyone else has to change to their way rather than them changing.

No it doesn't make them bad people. They will be like anyone else if you met them in person, friendly and polite.

They just happen to hold strong religious beliefs, similar to lots of Catholics in Ireland. Those that voted no in the recent referendums because of religious reasons weren't bad people. You probably know some of them.

Has there ever been a positive news story to print? We can see the press conferences and how he behaves for ourselves, we're not dumb Americans that can be brainwashed by the media.

Do you want stories about the president rescuing a cat out of a tree or real life stories about booming economy and jobs. Record stock market returns for investors and regular people's pension funds.

    What is important to you

But the dumbness to suggest that previous US presidents had integrity when we know how often they bomb and kill just astounds me every time.

Why go there and video if not to get a reaction. Clicks and revenue. That's what it's about.

Various left wing outlets reporting it as the man was intimidated and harassed by trump supporters. Lol. He walked around through the crowd sticking camera in people's faces. His reporting is anti Trump and he walked through Trump supporters. Stop the lights

Where are all of the stories about Trump pulling troops from the middle East and leaving the Kurds to fend for themselves gone?
    Gender neutral bathrooms ?
    Far right extremists?
    Muslim extremists?
    Refugee crisis?
    Climate crisis?

All gone. Don't exist or matter any more. Coronavirus and Trump's handling of it is 24/7 . Election coverage next.
Clicks and revenue. Reporting the news comes second.

The Coronavirus has control on the news cycle because it's a substantial ongoing news event. Articles and news items on it are not limited to Trump and primarily our news items focus on the European response and more specifically Ireland. Not sure why you'd consider this to be surprising.

Any luck with those stories you think should be covered?

The journalist went there to see what was going on. The protesters could have remained civil and explained their grievances with the lockdown.

You seem to be suggesting that in the one hand journalists should leave them alone, and on the other that the media is failing to cover their side properly.

Have a look into that particular reporters past work and then decide why he got that reaction. He isn't just some random happy go lucky reporter who just found himself at a Trump protest. Went for a reaction. Recorded it. Got the clicks and made a few USD. Name of the game
Also it's a protest. People generally aren't civil during protests. You know this

That guy is just a local reporter on Long Island. Doesn't work for CNN, MSNBC or any of the other major networks yet still gets called a traitor by the cultists.

    Pretty deplorable tbh

He took office when the economy was continuing its recovery and not in the beat up state like he claims. There's nothing impressive about anything he has done. You mention regular people...like farmers that are selling fewer goods to China due to his trade war? The major reasons for the stock market returns were due to tax cuts (which contributed to the budget deficit) and the Federal reserve keeping interest rates low. You can counter the stock market "success" with the unprecedented federal debt, trade disputes, trade deficit etc.

He'd leave the cat in the tree btw, he has zero empathy.

So they must work for free or something?

They acted as they did, he didn’t make them. That he got what he wanted is their fault not his.

He recorded them, there is no evidence that he goaded them or misrepresented them.

I've been to loads of protests over the years, people generally are civil and definitely wouldn't harass a journalist like that. They would take advantage of the platform to get their message across by explaining their perspective.

The average Trump MAGA fan, like the typical brexiteer is programmed to react in one of two ways in a given moment -

    a rant about MAGA/GBD
    or
to question why the MSM are lying to them and trying to twist their message.

When it comes to Trump and his buddies it's always someone else's fault.

Must be a great way to live. No responsibility.

I think people are tired now of hearing Brexit and Trump comparison.

Anti European feeling runs long and deep in Britain.

It's like some throwaway comment now to make these comparisons with no actual understanding of history.

So there was a story there and he told it. That is what journalists do.

But has the protestors acted in a civil way and not treated a fellow American as the enemy he would have had no story.

So it is entirely their fault for behaving like they did. Especially given that they are the ones protesting against their own government, and Trump, it seems a bit rich to class others as the enemy.

As for 'gotcha' questions, and normal person comes prepared with facts and figures to counter them. Trump has little grasp of the facts and when pushed to explain something he said earlier clashes out at the questioner as he has no answer since he made it up.

So the fault for that lies entirely with him.

How anyone can think Trump is the man to lead a country when he can't even handle the press is beyond me.

What is wrong with this large section of the American population. Virtually every country in the world had lockdowns and restrictions.
Only dumb Americans out protesting in large numbers.

Nowhere near the same extent. They weren't out with guns shutting down state legislature

So if only a few people turned up it's not a problem. Not to the same "extent"
Over 300 million people in the country.

How many people have to turn up before you think it's extensive. 15? 5000? 6 million?

Guns are legal. No problems there.
Umbrellas are legal in Ireland people can bring them to protests here if they wish.

The guns were purely for intimidation and threat. There is no comparison between guns and umbrellas.
I can't believe I just had to type that sentence.

Jesus wept! What's that phrase Mr. Trump is so fond of? FAKE NEWS.

Booming economy and jobs? Have a look at the figures. I couldn't really care less what they do but that is absolute hogwash.
