:confused:Do you really think a top tier pharmaceutical company's clinical trials and various country authorisation procedures wouldn't be able to glean some sort of statistical indicators as to the effectiveness of the vaccine before selling/buying/distributing it? You have literally no idea of what you are talking about, not even the basics of vaccine approval. Maybe you should leave the percentages to the epidemiologists, mathematicians and statisticians.

Yeap, they normally take 10 years, some of these vaccines are taking 10 months or less... We can't take all the vaccines or get them to everyone in the world. I can Google things as well as you...

You're beating down my opinion with stuff you have Googled or do you want to put a link to your medical qualifications up which shows your opinion is better than mine?

Reading your posts is wrecking me mentally. We get your not taking the vaccine so kindly stop posting about vaccines and run off and wait for the vaccine your willing to take when it arrives in 10 years time.

If we all just click ignore..

Or it's fake news, is it part of trials or just a potential cure for the symptoms, doesn't sound like a vaccine.

    Passive vaccine.

    It’s not a vaccine.

    Hi all
Has anyone had a home test carried out by the National Ambulance Service?
How long does it take for them to come once your confirmed to get the test? Do they give you notice prior to arriving or just call you when they are at your home? Does anyone know their hours of operation?
Thanks for any help. I've been told I'm getting the home test but ive been waiting a few days now so just wanted to learn more about the process. What if you arent available when they arrive?

Thanks, ive a lot going on personally hence all the questions,

    James

This is the drug Trump got with some data (it was discussed here a few days ago):

    https://investor.regeneron.com/news-releases/news-release-details/regenerons-regn-cov2-antibody-cocktail-reduced-viral-levels-and

It's an antobody cocktail of two neutralizing antibodies (the class of drug is called human monoclonal antibodies). They can be quite effective when given early. It's not quite at vaccine levels of effectiveness, more like an antiviral agent to lower viral loads and reduce chances of severe disease. They're usually very safe to use, much safer than antiviral compounds and convalescent plasma.

Careful now, I said in an earlier post today that it would be 2023 before the first of the general public got to run down to the clinic with sleeves rolled up to take the jab but was labelled a clueless anti-vaxxer!

Doom porn by him! A lot of other scientists and governments would disagree with that article.

    Absolutely gloom porn.

A quick search and read up on vaccines will quickly dispell that tweet.

Because you backed up your point with absolutely sweet fúck all in substantive data or science and based it all on opinion.

2023 get a grip of yourself, only if you decide not to get it when its available.

There are no vaccines so there cannot be substantive data. All talk about vaccines are opinions only. The date of 2023 is as good a guess as any.

    "substantive data or science"

You do know this is a fairly anonymous internet chat/debate forum? i'm not trying to publish a scientific document here, all my points can be found if you do what all the other "experts" on here do, Google it!

2023 for the first dose of the new vaccine yes, get a grip on your glasses and see the Tweet on the post I was replying to..

Data in terms of current progress, data released so far, the fact that rolling reviews are talking place now and the timeliness being published.

Of course there is data, some has been released and more will follow during the already ongoing phase 3 trials.

True, some people have lost the run of themselves on here masquerading as Experts on Vaccines...

Good man, will bookmark this so when a vaccine is available well before 2023.

Clearly you've done hardly any research into current progress so I'll leave it at that because there's absolutely no point in engaging

There is no approved vaccine. Vaccines are either safe and effective or not. It is black or white. The interim data and timelines are absolutely meaningless.

Let's hear your expert knowledge on the current status of vaccine development Professor as apparently other people's opinions aren't published in the Lancet?

There's actually a number of approved vaccines currently in use in China and the UAE.
There's also a number in pre-approval analysis by the European Medicines Agency and also in Canada.

Oh for the love of god, you've already been schooled here today and made a fool of for your discussion on vaccines and how you wont take one for years.

Multiple links posted here day in day out of research papers, initial vaccine data and trial data as its released.

If your really that bothered you'll be able to go off and read it for yourself which is what I started doing during all of this its really quite interesting and educating, I'm not here to do your research for you.

In your expert opinion, how likely is the Chinese vaccine or Sputnik for that matter likely to get approval from the FDA or EMA? 20% likely?

Not likely at all because the European variants are going to be approved within the next 2 months.

Sorry, I have a life and my opinion is as good as anyone else unless they're medical scientists or qualified experts who've read and understood all the complex medical research out there..
