Maybe early morning in the SW during the initial frontal passage and later from the afternoon more widespread in the Southern half of the country and more so Munster perhaps. Not a lot of Deep Layer Shear so probably more pulse like storms springing up and dying away again after but areas with more convergence might see more prolonged activity. We will see, doesn't always happen and then some days it would surprise you.

    Thank you.

    Possible strike off Ballybunion

As the front clears Munster and some clear skies are now present, cells are beginning to pop up now. Expecting sparks very soon. With a fair bit of shear also present, there may well be a good few funnels spotted, if not something a bit more.

There's a band of moderate to heavy rain about to make landfall in west County Galway, reaching the city of Galway within the hour. The main areas of convective stuff look like staying a little to the south and east of Galway, looking at current radar and satellite loops. Munster and much of Leinster would be the favoured areas for sparks today.

A lively little cell passing to the east of Limerick City just now. Several flashes and long rolling peals of thunder.

Just over a thunderstorm in the Ballysimon area near Limerick City. As I write this cell is still banging as it heads towards Cappamore and Murroe areas. There was in cloud flashes right over us. There was a cloud to ground flash on the Storm approach to my west. Cattle in the near field were frightened.
