    I spent about 40 minutes on top of a hill watching the lightning in the distance, it was calm at the start but as the system moved closer the winds picked up so I came indoors, as I reached the door the first drops of rain started fall.

    I can see faint flashes to my south 200+km away, just see a fairly bright one that seemed closer

    Currently in rochestown awaiting the lightning missed out not being at home in macroom earlier today..awaiting round 2 in the city

    Lightning maps has stuff hitting Mitchelstown area but haven't seen anything yet here in the city. Think it might be bypassing us unfortunately :(

    almighty roars here in cork. never heard thunder like it, some rumbles go on for a whole minute. monsoon like rain too.
