The HSE are losing control of the media. When Boards and Twitter have the school named multiple times and RTE is still sticking to the official line of "a school in the East" it might cause some to lose trust in the HSE and traditional media and the HSE.

In fairness the HSE are in a tricky spot on how they communicate.

Probably posted already but 40 minutes ago is a huge number of pages on this. The positive diagnosis was on a Dublin teenager who returned from a school trip skiing in Italy.

    https://www.irishtimes.com/news/health/coronavirus-dublin-school-to-close-for-two-weeks-as-student-has-covid-19-1.4189537

One of the parents from the school on here
already confirmed it wasnt a school trip.

So leave numerous school kids in Italy on their own, without parents, for an indefinite period of time? Ridiculous idea.

    Sounds a bit like CTYI

Yes but that's nothing to do with the Corona virus

I'd like Runaways re instated. I think he is genuine. And if not, what's the problem

If he's not genuine, then probably the bűllshït scaremonging is what the problem is. And given that he's been on the site five days, I'll err on the side of being suspect.

If all reality TV shows were canceled it would tip the scales in the other direction and I would be proclaiming the virus the saviour of humanity.

They could have said a school in Dublin and the parents have been informed... that would have nailed it without all the cloak and dagger stuff.

and no problem with 'patient confidentually'

    .

    Why?

All they have to do is stick to the facts. When you allow an information vacuum to occur it just encourages people to make up crap and it also allows doubt to creep in about the credibility of the HSE.

No one expects individuals to be named but the HSE should take proper control and not allow this to turn into a twitterfest

I'd like Runaways re instated. I think he is genuine. And if not, what's the problem, the man is in hospital probably with suspected sepsis from the wound he sustained whilst abroad, and is according to him showing symptoms of C19.

Whether he went out for a smoke or not is irrelevant.

We are such sceptics in this country, no wonder the HSE won't tell us anything because we won't believe it.

Don't forget the cut he sustained onboard a plane. How's that work? In my experience they go to great lengths to prevent passengers boarding with, or having access to, sharp cutting things.

What's going to happen to your daughter? I'm confused.

The virus hates smelly teenagers anyway so there is a positive for parents :)

Dont see the issue with not naming it. They should have named it straight away.

But how are they making a pigs ear of it ?? There is such a thing as patient confidentiality and gdpr.

I'd like to think if it was any of us we wouldnt want the media camped outside the house etc.

I hope the HSE advise parents to stay home and not go to work or elsewhere until the results of their child being tested are known.

I know, snowballs chance in hell.
