I guess that’s what they thought at the time of death as there weren’t any coronavirus in Europe at the time, were they?

What was the situation like on the 13th? God, it seems a lifetime ago.

First case in the Canaries on the 31st
First case confirmed in Valencia 25 February

Well it won't really affect you if you are not in the crowds will it?

I think it's time we have to start thinking at a population level, not just an individual level.

Wasn't that the point of the behavioural analyst guy on RTE last night?

An interesting Irish Times article from Paddy Murray Covid-19: Try telling people with COPD it's no big deal.

Similar to Spain - In France also a post mortem test diagnosed coronavirus in an 89 year old woman who died of pneumonia.

One wonder if other health services are conducting such post mortem tests or seeing a spike in pneumonia related deaths.

They already have. I saw a notice today ...if you feel unwell don't go to the dr in person ..ring. Clearly they are trying to stop it spreading more than deal with individuals.

You have to get the balance right though.

I think also that Boris Johnson didn't help her cause much either. The charlatan buffoon that he is.

Not helpful, but previous PMs haven't done anything helpful, either, despite plenty of time and opportunity.

The number of viral pneumonia cases in Thailand has doubled but no increase in testing

If the Spanish victim died on the 13 February, is that now the first autochthonous case in Europe ?
    That was well before than:
First Italian case - diagnosed on 20 February
First French case - showing symptoms from 13 February, and diagnosed on 25 February

Chance others died before but nothing thought of it

Must be difficult for older people and/ or battling cancer/serious illness to be hearing people disregard the threat of Coronavirus.

I think they will likely postpone it, but the decision needs to be made closer to the event as the situation changes daily.

There are no plans to cancel the festival at the moment. The Taoiseach said today that he expects Ireland to be in containment phase for the next few weeks and not to move out of it sooner than that (if at all).

The only thing that would cause it to be cancelled would be a dramatic worsening of events in the next fortnight and the emergence of a load of new cases.

Well it won't really affect you if you are not in the crowds will it?

But I take your point. Seems to me that cows were far more important during F+M in 2001.

But it's the economy stupid. Can't cull people I suppose.

Well it will affect me if it causes a huge outbreak. As you say cows were more important in 2001.

We would do well not to repeat history -

If they leave it too close to the event the people from all over the world will still fly into Dublin for it, they might be put off if they did it in advance .

Its not the temp. Its the uv light that kills bacteria and viruses.

I used to work in a salon. Its what they use to sterilize things. You put everything under uv light in a box you usually see them on the wall.

UV light is brilliant for killing bacteria.

Its cloudless days we need with sun.

So why is the temperature of 26c being quoted if its only UV light we need????
