Nothing in the temperature profile suggests low level snow really anywhere.

GFS suggests might be some wintry showers in the west towards morning:

The band of rain and snow tomorrow is now mostly rain with just a brief flirt with sleet or snow.

only the hirlam goes for proper snow lasting more than 1 hour. They were as over the top as the euro about last Sunday.

Icon going for a mixed event of rain, sleet and snow.

my guess is we'll see some wintryness but nothing that will stick for more than a few minutes in heavier bursts. Alot of surface water and feeling very raw.

Temperatures don't give me much confidence, however flakes can still fall with these sort of temperatures, but they will melt before your eyes as they hit the ground:

Snow falling to lower levels in the west this morning in some places. The heavier band of sleet and snow reaching the west by midday.

Expecting difficult blizzard like conditions for a time in the Midlands with sleet and snow reaching the east early afternoon.

The snow should turn to rain during the evening before clearing quickly north.

Clear with current temp in north Dublin 1.5c.

The place has just been whitened here from a wintry shower just a few kms east of Castlebar. Seemed like mostly graupel that fell. Temp currently 1c. All quiet wind wise at the moment but expecting things to liven up as the morning goes on.

All 26 counties then? Could have just written Munster Leinster Connacht and Donegal Cavan Monaghan.

Status Yellow - Snow/Ice warning for Ireland

Wintry showers of hail, sleet and snow spreading eastwards this morning will lead to icy conditions. Later this morning a more persistent band of rain and sleet will cross the country, turning to snow for a time, particular over the Midlands and north of the country, and over high ground elsewhere. The combination of sleet/snow and strong winds will lead to low visibility and hazardous driving conditions.

Actually a small covering on roofs and on the grass too, hardly a breeze out there.

Snow falling even here near the coast in East Cork :D and today's my birthday.

  • Registered Users Posts: 23,565 ✭✭✭✭Kermit.de.frog

Frontal zone now coming on to the west coast with sleet and increasingly snow pushing in to Connaught and north Munster over the next couple of hours. Expect local blizzard like conditions to develop in places inland away from immediate windward coasts.
