Pretty good August. 6.5Kwp system in South Dublin city setup exactly E/W

120% of PVGIS. Best August on record for me, even beat this years July figure of 644Kwh. Sadly with an E/W setup, generation really takes a hit now from Sept onwards with expected forecast dropping to 400Kwh approx for Sept.

Nope, nothing wrong just that the sun doesn't shine directly onto the panels as it would in high summer. You'll notice that dropping off until December and then it will start climbing again. Here's my own max output for 12 months.

Note the max output in December is a miserable 1.5Kw. Again this is because the sun is low in the sky and hits the panels at an angle rather than straight on which happens in summer and the sun is more overhead.

    For August:

796kWh generated - 6.72kW system facing ESE in South Dublin.

    313kWh consumed.

Slightly higher generation than July and 10% better than August 2023.

In August, self-used 27.4% of electricity generated and fed in the other 577kWh (no battery).

Since initial installation on March 7 2023, a total of 10.78MWh generated, 7.51MWh fed to grid, with a self-use ratio of approximately 31%.

Solar Energy Calculator and Mapping Tool - PVGIS

Only does 1 aspect arrays, so if you have 2 arrays you'll have to individually put them in and then add them up yourself, but it gives pretty good approximations for what you will get with your Kwp and orientation (north, south, etc) and slope

After August being such a good month across most of Europe, Sept sadly was the worst month in awhile for me. If it wasn't for those 4x decent days in around the 16th→19th , it'd be looking at worst ever in 3+ years in terms of percentage actual compared to expected.

    Only 83% of PVGIS. :-(

Still, I was net positive for the month in terms of exported verses imported, so hey no €€€ needed to go out. There's always a positive way to spin it - LOL.

6.5kwp split East/West in South Dublin City.

Pretty good month. Thought it was going to be my best September, the last few days clobbered that hope

The buy sell mix is beginning to ramp up the buy side as the battery is not quite sufficient to cover the full day

    Still that's 91% @EV rate

And in terms of real money, definitely chipping away at the summer surplus now

Current discount up in a couple of months, hopefully the others follow BGE with hefty discounts...

Yup, I've a 6.5Kwp setup (exactly E/W) in south Dublin city and only got 357kwh. Your doing pretty well there with 445kWh considering your only just down the road. I do however have the clouds roll off the Dublin hills beside me…..always seem to linger about in it's only little microclimate :-(

South dublin, 10kwp panels with 5kwh inverter. Seems like it was a duller month on the east coast than other parts of the country.
