In the United States, somebody could be as conservative as feck on all other issues but if they try to help black Americans get justice they will get called a radical leftist.

Hence the subtitle "aka the Trump Coronation". Trump is trying to make himself Dictator.

Go and watch Varadkar and co. let everyone off to Cheltenham and welcome back skiers with open arms and no self-isolation.

You do realise that Varadkar had no powers to stop this right?

The whataboutery isn't really constructive IMO. I don't understand why people who want to defend Trump think it's so effective.

We sat again for an hour and a half discussing maps and figures and always getting back to that most damnable creation of the perverted ingenuity of man - the County of Tyrone.

Show me where I've defended Trump here?

You've been making out that virtually every other leader is somehow worse than him without any detail.

Name those other leaders who I said was worse?

Also I'm not sure how Biden could handle any of the current situations worse than Trump...

Ok. Fair enough. You have me there.

I forgot that the Varadkar post was not in relation to Trump. That said, the notion that you're not a Trump supporter is belied by the constant criticism of Biden.

Like George Orwell himself learned, being critical of the left from within the left leads to you being ostracized and belittled.

Who or what is “the left”?

Orwell favoured a socialised Europe... Secondly when did he get ostracized? He tended to criticise the likes of HG Wells for his utopian vision and disregard for the danger of Nazi Germany but that was more a criticism of unrealistic ideals. Have you even read any of his work besides 1984?(if even that)

The alt right have seemingly tried to bastardize Orwell's legacy as their own. They don't seem to actually know about him and what he was writing about.

For instance Orwell wouldn't have been cheer-leading the arrest of that CNN news crew reporting the news Minneapolis, but oddly some who quote him do.

"One could not have a better example of the moral and emotional shallowness of our time, than the fact that we are now all more or less pro Stalin. This disgusting murderer is temporarily on our side, and so the purges, etc., are suddenly forgotten."

He was against Stalin, but pro communism. So he was a leftist who was critical of the left. Just like I said.

Just like today most of you guys are pro China, despite the murderous and disgusting practices that are happening there.

You could have replied in thread to that point; but you prefer to drag that point into another thread; so I won't be responding to it, sufficed to say you're wrong.

And he was ostracised?(he got flack from the communist press but not remotely ostracised) He associated with communists but he was a socialist, not a communist. I'm not actually remotely pro the Chinese government and I imagine most aren't.

Hey, I'm not complaining about censorship in this thread whilst cheer-leading censorship in another. Certainly not bastardizing Orwell either.

I'd take your correction. Perhaps I was using too strong words, belittled definitely.

I bet you would be surprised though at the amount of people that are pro chinese government, they favour the censorship and the state control.

Being so anti-immigrant, do you suppose that he realises that Elon Musk is a South African? And that in turning up to the launch he is supporting an immigrant?
