Very inaccurate half from Leinster. Just a yard off the pace and need to tighten up now and play a pragmatic game for the next 20 minutes after half time. They can open up again for the final quarter but they need to put the game away and not let this turn into a battle.

Weird game for Leinster. Could easily be 3 or 4 more tries to the good but look a bit ropey in defence.

Think defence has been a big concern this year. Playing some lovely stuff going forward but we seem to leaking a lot of points this year. I know sometimes it happens in games where we’re winning well such as Ulster and Northampton but we need to sort it.

Not to labour the point, but they dont "back down" because its not their job to "stand up" to the ref in the first place. Their job is simply to bring the evidence to the refs attention and he makes the final decision because he is the sole authority on the field. Its a pretty simple chain of command.

He said something weird for the McGrath try as well. "I will bring you irrefutable evidence that 9 was in front of the kicker". It's a weird way to position something to the ref imo

Come off it. That's like if you want chicken and your wife tells you you're having fish and you pretended you never actually wanted chicken.

I might frame this as a great example of when argument from analogy wastes everyone's time.

Looked like Fardys left foot was in front of the ball when he picked it anyway?

We've been inconsistent in defence. Against Lyon and Munster away we shut them out completely. But against sides that wanted to throw the ball around we did the same and leaked some easy scores. Need to be better.

And that chain of command was followed today, but with referee trusting the man analysing the clearer evidence to have made a correct call.

The Leinster defence has been unbelievably stingy this season with very few exceptions.

I think people are forgetting this is a top class Lyon side and they have been playing like it

Are the mics picking up a strange noise?

Big fan of Larmour literally spinning in a circle yet still beating his man.

Ref gonna have to look at another card soon if they keep that up

Think Robbie Henshaw really needs to get his passing game going.

Haven't been to the RDS in a few years. Are they handing out multiple high resolution screens to fans, control over replays from multiple angles and the ability to shield crowd noise to aid concentration? Wow, serious advances in gameday experience there.

It's TMO, not CSI. If it can't be seen on a big screen with multiple replays it didn't happen. We can't have a man in a high castle carrying out molecular analysis and calling the shots when nobody else in the stadium can see what he apparently sees (which, moreover, was nothing, in this case;he called it on a hypothesis).

Lyon have infringed a lot on their own line again.

    Cynical play again from Lyon.

Beaker gone to the bin, really need to score from here

Ryle Nugent saying that Lyon have been good on their own line. They have just consistently infringed imo, rather than any serious play.

Can't believe we haven't gone for the corner at some point in this phase, if we thinned them out with 14 we'd be done and dusted by now.

Keep ****ing them in the scrum, see if Whitehouse has the balls to send off a second player.

    Two scores I think.

    Put the game to bed.

At least you've moved on from bad analogy to bad straw man. The variety is appreciated. TMO has the best tools in the house to make the correct call (which was confirmed by former professionals at half time).

They are killing the time on the clock, sin bin already 3 mins down with no play.

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,906 ✭✭✭✭PhlegmyMoses

    Deegan has been excellent today.

Best Leinster player on the pitch. Just like last week.

    Fair play Deegan

Imagine a backrow of Doris at 6, Deegan at 7 and Conan at 8

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,906 ✭✭✭✭PhlegmyMoses

These scrums have chewed up so much of the yellow card time.

    No VDF no party

Would be great to watch against the weaker sides. But VDF is the best 7 in the country and would also thrive playing alongside any of those lads.
