    It’s everywhere you turn..

Actually, I think that they might have got on well. Both seem to share the view that men are "broken" and need to be "fixed".

    Awful radio.

"Men utter 7,000 words a day, Women utter 20,000". Seems to support the theory that it is difficult for a man to get a word in edge ways:)

Brendan being quite abrupt with this guy who’s on to talk about men’s mental health, compared with Louise O’Neill, whose views on the patriarchy he unquestioningly accepts.

Sick of endless gender politics! Why do we always have to be on one side over the other?

True...although I thought he (and the guest) just kind of took the p1ss out of the whole topic. Almost apologetic for even discussing it...wouldn't be a hint of that if the genders were reversed. "Man up" BOC.

I was just going to point out the same contrast. For every remark that the Man Down author made in reference to men having difficulties, the author felt the need to qualify or apologise for what he was saying. And Brendan felt the need to challenge him strongly. No similar qualifications were asked of Louise O'Neill for any of her sweeping statements, and she certainly was not challenged by Brendan.

If the author is going to cover the topic seriously, then he should at least have the courage of his convictions and not feel the need to pander to the PC brigade.

It seems to me that social narrative is generally becoming more polarized. Any topic BLM/WLM, Male/Female, pro vax/ anti vax etc etc, appears to thrive on extreme positions. The middle ground has by and large, disappeared from social debate! Not sure why, maybe social media???

I listened to the item, i did not think it was about mental health.
i Thought it was about his book about mens lives ,as they grow up,get married, have kids ,the pressures of work etc he said woman also have similar problems as men.
He was not being pc.brendan was asking him questions ,i dont think he was being rude or agressive to the author.
i thought the item on tik tok was funny as brendan did not seem to understand the point of tik tok .
it seems like on social media its presumed everyone one must be pro blm,or pro feminist or else you are a savage.

In general I thought that BOC was better today. Less interruptions or maybe better timed. I wonder did somebody have a word in his ear?

    As opposed to ...?

I cannot stand when she goes on her “the patriarchy has traumatised me, I like all women am only coming to terms with that now, blah blah blah” spiel- speak for yourself Louise, don’t speak for me.

By all accounts, Louise had a happy childhood in a rich and prosperous country. Her desperation to be a victim is so embarrassing to listen to.

But victims are so lovable, so cherishable, so compensatable.
You could spend your whole life trying to make up for the appalling vicissitudes that have befallen them...but of course it would never be enough.
No wonder everyone wants to wear the mantle of victimhood. In the crackpot world of PC it's a blessed state.

In fairness she is calling out Leo and his current 's#hit stirring" and MM poor communication.

Dr.Laura is poor and Mark Paul is doing his usual BSing

As far as I'm concerned A O'C is a consistently reliable guest on this type of show.

Always well briefed and well able to fight her corner.

Needed when you have Mark Paul on.

Suggesting that he is on the front line is incredible arrogance.

Didn't catch that, but I'd agree.

But I don't she's doing it for Mark Paul. It's just to show us all how informed and straight talking she is...not

You could tell how annoyed Brendan was at the remark. He had that "ffs, you have been long enough doing this to know the rules, but you are deliberately p1ssing all over them to get a bit of controversy".
