Could everyone post up what they've just watched on NetFlix with either a "Good" or "Bad" recommendation? We need sensible ways to entertain ourselves!

Also, I think everyone should set aside 5 minutes every evening to pray for all the Broadband providers: if we lose that, we're all dooooooomed!!
    Homeland - enjoyable
    Peaky blinders - loved it
Grace and Frankie - love it
Suits just finished it for second time - love
The good wife without a doubt my fav series ever

Couchside half-asleep after an early morning dash to the shops which were far busier at that time than I expected - first time out in a week and I felt a little stressed.

I'm trying to work but mind isn't focussing too well - I think everyone I know is a bit shocked, but this will pass and we'll all come through it - It's a waiting game now.

Miserable afternoon for the garden and I had work to do which didn't take me long at all. Now I'm planning dinner of rib-eye steaks, sweet potato chips and veg.

    Hope everyone is well.

No work tonight, managed another nap. Think it's time for some tea and toast. I've a mountain of books to be read, Netflix, cleaning and stuff to be at, off for walkies but not today its raining sod that..

After dinner. Cassoulet. I've been awakening to sunshine every morning. Thinking about taking a picnic somewhere if its nice tomorrow. Apart from olives, cheese, cake and tea I dont have much picnic food experience.

Relaxing at home. Online classes are going to be a strange thing to get used to, I did my first proper one today. Tried to make as many notes as possible to help me with it so we will see if that’ll help.

Planning on heading out in a bit to break the monotony of isolation, will be nice to just spend some time outside the house even if it is only in the car somewhere :)

Just back from a walk with Mrs G. We had one conversation with a lady walking her dog. Her on one side of the road and us on the other. Nice to see people out and about but keeping distance even if they stop to chat. This isn't too fooking hard to understand.

The staying at home thing is easy enough for us. Mrs G does a lot of it since her stroke two and a half years ago. I iused to do a lot of work from home so know all about it. Ms G is enjoying the slightly increased access to playing online with her friends. Tonight its a movie night

Hope what we are trying to do works. Hope people stick with it. Hope we can beat this thing or at least reduce its risk.

Just listening to the news now , 8pm is when we get updated tonight , although a lot has been put in place already . Hopefully this will finally get through to those that thought this was going to be like a storm in a tea cup and that it'd blow over quickly .
It won't , we're in for the long haul and fingers crossed it brings out the best in everyone , not the worst .

Coffee here , don't feel like dinner yet , although Sephs plate is already dished up :p

I'm planning to abandon Netflix and go with Disney+. I need a mix for a pre teen and "older" adults.:D

I have a lot of ex colleagues and a family member working for broadband providers. Some working from home and some not. They ate just as heroic as our food retail people.

I know this sounds awful but it didn't occur to me my parents might be worried. We're not close in the typical way and they're only in their 50s and have always been vital, healthy people. 50s are at some risk too though :/

People are sounding like they expect the closures to go beyond 2 weeks...have I understood that right?

Homeside on my own as oh is helping my distant neighbour with a car. Having a cup of coffee and a think.

About to go for a walk in the dark, well in the street lights anyway. I'll brace myself for the 8 pm updates. Some cleaning done but I might as well spread it out over the week.

I think that's the working assumption for most at this stage. COVID-19 can't be stopped or prevented anymore, and I'm not sure if it ever could be. The current plan is to play for time, prevent a massive peak of severe cases from forming, and get the case load to a point that the health system can manage with the resources it has, and a few civil defence/Defence Forces resources thrown in, albeit distributed over a longer timeframe. You may have heard the term "flattening the curve" being thrown around, this is what that refers to.

This means limiting the chances for infection by reducing public life and getting people to stay home or at least stay away from others. That's why schools have been closed, pubs are asked to close, and any large scale assemblies have been restricted here in Ireland. This will likely persist for quite some time, probably much more than the two weeks announced last week.

I hope I didn't frighten you with my reply, but there's really no short answer at this stage.

Anyway, just back from topping up a few supplies. Now I'm fully lockdown ready :D

Good luck trying to figure me out. I haven't managed that myself yet!

    Went for a walk.
Sitting in the park (alone) reading “Real People” magazine and trying to choose my favourite compensation face.

If you like compo faces....you'd like Angry People in Local Newspapers on FB. They are hilarious.

Thomil, thats my take on it too.

RR71, glad to see you are still around :). Are you still local or did you travel ?

Just off the phone to my aunt. She had to cancel the memorial service for my uncle in Toronto. She is gutted.

That presser from the Taoiseach and crew is a frightening prelude to what we can expect. I felt like a person anywhere in England/Scotland/Wales circa 1941 listening to the wireless as Churchill spoke.

Thomil, I appreciate your reply :)
No, I'm too used to emergencies to be really scared by much :)
    Information is power :)

Kitchenside, have to slow down and rest due to sick stomach, thank goodness for ice pops.

I had strong enough words with someone today. Poor person just burst into tears. I don't think it was me as I wasn't over harsh, but it might have been the latest in a long line of complaints. Hate when Companies expect people to do fob off jobs.

People getting very concerned when others are not displaying basic cop on. There's a lot of kickback against those coming back from Cheltenham for example.

Back home with a clearer head, it's a lovely night for a walk. A lot of other people had the same idea.

The update was to be expected so I'm not sure how I feel about it really. I see the restaurant association are looking for the government to order them to close, I suppose they want to ensure their staff qualify for social welfare.
