I thought it had stopped and we only had the ordinary glitch , but no and what's worse is that you can't post on the threads :p

    Get on to your laptop!

Kitchen table. Beer. Worry. Implications. More worry. Beer.

Heading home for the evening, chilling out. Going to get some wine and Netflix then for the night. Gone mad into reading since holidays. So might do some of that too.

Hopefully soon I’ll be able to graduate from picture books :D

    Something like this?

Deskside, just waiting for my new VLOG to finish processing on YouTube.

My computer almost went flying out the window several times, though...

Good luck trying to figure me out. I haven't managed that myself yet!

Looks like I’ll be out of work for the foreseeable! No official word on us closing yet but I can’t imagine we’ll stay open at a time like this.

Currently fireside, where I plan on staying for quite some time

I was one of the most self sufficient people you could meet until last February but now I cannot stand to be alone with myself.
I never complained of boredom before this either.
I'm going out with OH first thing tomorrow morning. He's taking me away to our own remote retreat. I'm a flippant, impulsive, headstrong idiot sometimes but I'm so lucky to have him. I'm not going to think past this week. Let it all unfold as it should.

Loads of us will be out of work Kitty and not paid either. A real game changer ahead and nobody has a real clue. Not Donald, Leo or Boris, so don't worry about it.

Was working online for the past 4 hours. I really don't mind this time. Opening up a glass of wine at 10, because I'm in no rush to bed. IT's like there are no days or nights - no work but all work. I wont be over the limit in the morning. My little home office is set up in my dining room.

As others have said, I will be fine - its the parents I'm worried about. My Mum is alone and my Dad's in a home. I brought down the dogs a load of dog food to my Ma's - she never cares if she's food herself - the dogs come first.

I also have a lot of friends self employed - some very sad stories out there.

I know there are new provisions for self employed people to access welfare now but when it comes to it 305 a week is scary from full time wage type money.

It won't cover most people's mortgage/rent and utilities, nevermind food.

It seems cruel to think of the financial implications when people will die.

    It's only natural though LER.

I volunteer with a charity and there is a huge surge in people seeking help struggling mentally.

The threat of death from financial implications might be as serious as from the virus itself. I'm thinking of the last recession. I lost some friends, mostly those self employed and in construction.

Picking up the pieces will be a challenge, way beyond when the threat of the virus itself has long passed.

I'm very worried for all the small businesses and people who work for them out there. I’m fortunate I can work from home but we all want everyone to be ok and selfishly, we need businesses and services to be available when we come out the other end of this.
I am very comfortable in my own company and spend lots of time on my own, but the uncertainty of it all adds an extra dimension and I’m really disconcerted by it.
But got an email from my gym earlier and they have implemented distancing and cleaning protocols for people who want to still go but also arranging to move online for those of us who can’t go in person, sending us training sessions to do at home and have weekly check ins with everyone.
I’m nearly crying here, happy that I will have motivation to continue with my fitness goals and happy that the owner is thinking of ways to keep her business going but more importantly is thinking of all the people she has been helping.
Seems we’re all a bit philosophical this evening.

The mental health aspect has me concerned also, people sat at home ruminating, circumstances possibly changing beyond recognition, as you mentioned financial pressures contributed to some tragic loss of life.. I'm hoping i'll muddle through

I think a lot of small, independent businesses won't recover. Even 2 weeks of lost revenue will be a big blow to them.

I hate faceless chain stores and avoid them where possible, so I hope many of the smaller players survive.
