    Hi all!

I have taken some unpaid leave from London. I made my decision on Tuesday night and flew back earlier today. Mrs G and Ms G have been getting a little bit scared by all the virus news and that helped my decision. For the last two weeks I was lucky in that I had very limited exposure to many people as that can be the way my work there pans out. It can be hermit like at the best of times. However London is scared too. A lot of mask wearing people there over the last two weeks anyway.

I arrived after the big Leo V news today and I have to say it was like arriving to a pre nuclear war country. The Spar down by T1 arrivals car park/bus station was fooking crazy. The taxi driver asked me where had I flown from. He wasn't impressed by London, but I got a lecture and an update as he suggested I sit in the back. Cheltenham returnees will be some craic.:D

Anyway back at the ranch and posting this here because most know me and my story. I think I'm clean and looks like serious shopping was done at some point.

Feeling quite emotionally overwhelmed with all of this tbh. I have an elderly immune-compromised mother and a father who isn't much better so I fear for them so much. I think I finally got the severity of the situation through to them today but who knows.

Trying to see the positives but I can't stay away from social media nor the news, which we know is where most of the hysteria is happening.

Stay safe friends, and look after yourselves and each other. Scary times. I have no other words to be honest. x

Running around packing. Got word that my university is closing down from tomorrow so had a quick search and managed to get a relatively cheap flight home tomorrow morning. Getting a lift to a very small airport so exposure should be limited, but because I’ve quite a lot of health issues I’d rather be home near my medical team than where I am now. Worst comes to worst, my da has told me he’ll throw a bit of extra hay into the shed and I can self-isolate among the cattle. Feels good to be so loved :D

Chairside in the living room. Just re-rigged my home office for work. My company will be working remotely for at least the next two weeks.

I was able to avoid the shopping craze though. Before the office closed down, the order came down from management to "help yourselves" in the office kitchen, particularly with regards to perishables like fruit or milk. Quick and easy way to stock up on that stuff :D

Good luck trying to figure me out. I haven't managed that myself yet!

Well looks like if I don't have corona virus I'll be working non stop.
Our shifts getting longer & presume not so many days off from now.
Feel sorry for the ones at work with kids, all off school for weeks & parents will be working even longer then usual!

Contemplating going for a few pints in case they close the pubs.
Was talking to the offspring today, they're not coming for the weekend and paddy's day now, very dissapointed, but they're right of course.
Yep, a few pints will make me feel better.

While I try not to do any drama about anything, sitting under the same roof as my wife and daughter tonight is a relief considering that I havent seen them in weeks. I had got some info over the last week about my parents, both in their 70s with underlying illnesses. They babysit regularly for my sister and have decided with my sister and brother in law, that they will continue to babysit. Both my sister and her husband work in big groups and nationwide. But its all about money with them the pair of selfish pricks. Very angry and upset, but my phone conversations with them have just lead to arguments. They don't get it.

Grandeeod , good to see you back "home" here :p
Seriously though , it's good that you're home with Mrs G and Little G , we'll await amazing dishes made from basic rations :D

Before anyone shoots me , we've got to try keep our sense of humour , especially in the days ahead imo .

I have it on good authority that laughing stops covid19 from spreading.
I read it on FB so it must be true.

If you cough, then laugh thrice, the laughs nullify the cough.
Ratio has to be 1:3 though.

If there's any shooting to be done I'll be the one doing it, so PM me your best selfie so I don't target you when you're looting Lidl's in a JCB :D

Just home from Lidl, they've enough stock and in the process of stocking the shelves now. I got my beer :)

Absolutely try to keep some kind of sense of humour Mam. Before that though I have to try keep a sense of humour around two hormonal women scared as fook about disease and impending doom. :D Settling into a grove here. That Covid 19 thread is fooking mental. Where do you start????

Gonna try and bring some calm to our house, but my parents are banned as they should really be relaxing at home, stocked up on food, booze and TV. But nope, they opt for maximum chance of getting sick.

Makikomi, pm sent , I'm an ace driver btw :D
(Driving Miss Daisy more like !)
You and everyone in the DF stay safe in the days ahead also .

Grandeeod , hopefully having you home will ease some of the fears in family G , and sometimes family members (parents) can be the last ones to heed the best advice . You've tried , don't beat yourself up over it .

Not that it's often said in Corporate land , but the team handing Corona in our office are doing a great job.

Regarding covid thread... Go to the last page, read back 3-5 pages and come out... That's enough negativity for one sitting. Repeat every few hrs, if you want..... Leave reading every single entry to the mods :D

Regarding parents... I genuinely don't think some of them grasp how serious it is. My mam wants nothing more than to spend some time with my kids... I keep saying they are germs, and she dismisses it. To get her to take my hand sanitisers I had to tell her if she gets sick the hospital won't treat her... I warned my siblings to say the same. Now she has ocd so washing hands is not a problem and she absolutely hates people she doesn't know standing close to her. But she's very much falling into its only a flu category.

My parents are having none of it. My sister is a bible muncher and claims that Covid-19 is a warning from God. Said that if my wife had more faith (a few years ago) she wouldn't have had the stroke she had. Glad I'm back to defend my crew from BS! As for my parents...they can take their chances.

    Welcome back, Grandeeod :)

Fireside now. I thought I was sick myself but an overnight fever burned whatever it was off.
I really want everyone I love to be here with me. I wouldn't mind packing people into every spare space just for the reassurance of them being near. Could have a quarantine party! But I'm on my own *sniffs*. And I only have one roll of toilet paper. :D No bread.

    God Bless you."

Yeah I don't know how to respond to that.

Just sank gratefully into my obliging bed :)
Sore, but feeling virtuous. My house is sparkling and smells of lemons and tea tree.

Hope all is well as possible with all of you, sorry I missed some very moving posts recently!

Good to see you again mi amigo. And I hope and will pray that you and your familia are healthy and safe. Your sister I will only say should re-examine the scripture about judging not, heh.

After catching up on a few threads about what is happening over the virus. Should have stayed in Culiacan a few more days, heh.

I've been a little quiet these last few weeks, my own health has taken a turn for the worse... but also, someone has been coming to mind quite a lot.

Tomorrow is the first anniversary of the passing of one of our own, as we remember, Shpud / Shannon..I think it only fitting that we raise a collective glass in his memory this weekend...
and maybe just keep him in mind as we face these scary times ahead, knowing that we don't all have the opportunity to go forward in life together.
    Love & Light

    Getting up, time for coffee.
Working from home today, and likely to be told to do so from next week anyway.
Family decided we’d postpone my mother’s birthday get together. Just 9 of us call to the house for a bit of cake but decided it’s not worth taking the chance.
Welcome home Grandeeod! Stay well everyone.

This is making me laugh - I've a story to lighten the mood. I came back from India on Wednesday last week and while there I took part in a silent meditation course. It was 12 days long and we lived like monks. Fed twice a day (6:30am and 11am), meditation from 4:30am to 9pm with few breaks in between and in total silence, no eye contact, no speach, no reading, no writing. Just you alone with your thoughts.

Think that was bad?! They had no toilet paper. But they had a shop where you could buy things. So I asked for TPs and was given 1. Indian style. Single ply.

Friends, I will let you know that wee's take 1 ply, CAREFULLY folded and used with only the tips of your fingers for fear of rippage. For anything more solid TG India use the bum guns so damage to my supply wasn't as bad as one was expecting.

Caught myself buying a 4 pack in Tesco yesterday and laughed to myself this would last me MONTHS!!!

Happy Friday. I'm exhausted from the stress. Today I am choosing positivity. And terrible stories. :D
