If we're only going to use one example to base an entire opinion on then....

    Sexton can't kick
    Murray can't pass
    Cooney can't kick or pass
    Furlong can't scrummage
    Stander can't carry
    VDF can't tackle
    Larmour can't beat a defender

    etc.

    etc.

    etc.

Sextons place kicking has been steadily worsening alright, and he has been making a habit of missing touch on big kicks as well.

I don't underestimate any side, but we should win. Scotland can be brilliant and are tough on their day, but it's rare. I expect us to win by 10.
It's a good match for Farrell to get his feet wet. Ireland are tough at home and obviously want to rebound from the rwc. It will be interesting to watch our tactics. I wonder how different things will be implemented from the start. I think that we're going to see a similar play list from the last year, but with a little more freedom for the players to play rugby.
I worry about the line out. It's an area that we need to improve. Herring will be under the microscope and he needs to put in a good performance.
    Can't wait!

Is it not a risk to just take the shackles off a team that has been playing the percentages for years and years?

Well 3 of the 4 provinces don’t play with shackles on and the other has a new inventive coach supposedly gradually loosening them. They’re all well capable

Getting out of bed is a risk.

It is a game of sports, anything can happen, but I imagine not a single pundit outside of Andy Nicol is going to expect Scotland to win. Wales could get two red cards in the opening 5 minutes and lose to Italy, but its not likely.

Sextons kicking is becoming an issue quiet frankly, his Champions cup record has declined. His accuracy is over 30% down this season on last, and that was down on the previous.

Remember his terrible missed kicks versus the all blacks in japan?

    He's 72% in the Champion's Cup this season, from 3 games - 3/4, 3/4 and 2/3.

    Last season's Champion's Cup (according to the Wiki page) he didn't miss a kick? 5/5, 5/5, 3/3, 5/5, 5/5, 2/2 (unless there's some mistake here).

So rephrasing this - he has missed three kicks this season. Three. And it has caused his accuracy to drop (actually by 28%, but you're close).

And how 100% can then be down on the previous season must be a mistake.

Surely not... when such statistics are so easy to find.

Please please please, people, just use the list. It's easier and leads to less quoting.

So your issue is a single kick? Apart from that you have zero proof his kicking is on the decline?

    Blustery

Sexton kicks penalty’s to the corner
    Aris agus aris

His vice-captains? just look on and nod.

Ireland need to stick it in the corners. Scottish lineout is cat.

What did stander do wrong for that? He wasn't the tackler

    That wasn't great

First half was iffy. Think we showed some invention in attack at times. Ringrose and Aki combined well to out each other through gaps. But the forwards we're static when running into the ball and defence wasn't off the line quick enough

We fixed our line speed in the second half and looked better defensively, but the Ringrose injury robbed us of our creativity. Very worried about his injury considering the Ireland camo wouldn't say what it was. Bit impressed with out set piece or physicality against Scotland. We've been poor in contact.

Furlong, Doris, Kilcoyne and Ringrose off injured is a disaster.

Jasus that last scrum summed it up, we'll take the win and get the hell outta dodge.
