Really looking forward to the hole in the ground. Wasn’t expecting a low key highly rated Irish film that’s not long out of the cinema to be on Netflix so quick.

I barely remember the plot of Bloodsport but the fights were great and the end song. Fight to Survive!

You'd think netflix would try and add something Christmas related for December. :)

Oh and a Fast & Furious animated series?

    Ok

Anyway Bloodsport is a classic hopefully they'll add Kickboxer and Double Impact too.

    What's a modern viewing?

Viewing it right now. Some films dont stand up to well, especially if you haven't seen them at the time they came out.

Other films stand up perfectly well, no matter when you watch them.

    Ad Vitam season 1
In a future where regeneration technology lets humans live indefinitely, a cop and a troubled young woman investigate a strange wave of youth suicides.

I've watched the first 3 episodes. Like many French series it's rather slow and low-key, but it's got some interesting things going on with decent acting. No r/v's on IMDb or RT, but other reviews say it gets more interesting as the episodes go on. I actually quite like the slow pace, given the contemplative nature of the conceit involved, and the slow reveals of some large nefarious goings-on, without any hints of any large-scale conspiracy, yet. It's intriguing, though it's pace might not be for all.

Finished it. It does pick up the pace somewhat, then ends suddenly; I hadn't realised it's only 6 episodes. I quite liked it; quite an interesting storyline, examining the impact on the human psyche of the possibility of immortality, along with the darker side of suicides and murders. What it examines is the thought that immortality has its downsides.
Reminds me of the ennui inherent in immortality considered by the ancient Greek philosophers, which of course was brought to its philosophical apex in the series 'True Blood'.:p

The Witcher seems like the obvious candidate assuming it doesn't end up being crap.

A bit of a wait for this but

Aardman head to Netflix for festive special Robin Robin
Stop-motion legends and national treasure Aardman are heading to Netflix for Robin Robin, a new animated festive special.

Four time Academy Award winners, ten time Academy Award nominees, and creators of Wallace & Gromit, Shaun the Sheep, Chicken Run and many more, Aardman will bring their stop-motion wizardry to the streaming service with the tale of a small bird.

When her egg fortuitously rolls into a rubbish dump, Robin is raised by a loving family of mice. As she grows up, her differences become more apparent. Robin sets off on the heist to end all heists to prove to her family that she can be a really good mouse – but ends up discovering who she really is.

The special is created and directed by Dan Ojari (Slow Derek – Grand Prix: Animated Encounter) and Mikey Please (The Eagleman Stag – BAFTA: Best Animated Short, Marilyn Myller-McLaren Award: Edinburgh Film Festival). Helen Argo (Tate Movie Project, Wallace & Gromit’s Musical Marvels) will produce, with Sarah Cox (Tate Movie Project and BAFTA nominated Heavy Pockets) on board as exec-producer.

“When Mikey and Dan first pitched us the concept for Robin Robin we knew instantly that this was a rare and special project that we had to make together. It’s a beautifully crafted stop-frame musical that immediately feels classic whilst being groundbreaking and modern,” says Cox.

“Together with Aardman, we’re thrilled to celebrate and introduce new generations of families around the world to the craft of stop motion animation through Robin Robin, a magical tale that warms the heart and can be enjoyed by the whole family,” comments Alexi Wheeler, Manager of Kids and Family International Originals at Netflix.

Robin Robin is currently in production at Aardman’s award-winning studio in the UK and will debut on Netflix in time for the holidays in 2020.

Finally got around to watching 'The Devil Next Door'. A few twist and turns, and full of some very 'interesting characters'. Worth the watch.

Just finished the 2nd series (of 3) of Bonus Family. A Swedish light drama following the lives of a coiple of families in Stockholm.

It doesn't sound much but it's touching, funny and thought prevocative. Great actors playing very well drawn characters in subtle storylines.

Just finished Greatest Events of WW2 In Colour and loved every minute of it. Fascinating footage and very well produced and written. I'd watch another 10 episodes.
