As there's no Girl Band coming from End of the Road could I please instead have the following from there:

    Bright Eyes
    Aldous Harding
    Penelope Isles
    Big Thief
    Pixies
    Just Mustard
    The Comet Is Coming
    Richard Dawson

Van Morrison is a good shout too Rubick. He's played enough Glastos, surely one EP won't put him out too much.

He's never off the blatter, think he played at the dedication of a new park bench in East Belfast there a while ago.

Last time he was around these parts he caused riots! But I guess that was 37 years ago.

I'd take Van, heard Patti Smith doing her version of Gloria, would be nice to hear Van do it.

Even looking through that End of the Road line up has me excited for an announcement. Nice to see Junior Brother in there. I'm interested to see what anyone outside of Ireland makes of him. He was up on stage in the Olympia with David Keenan last week. Strong Irish presence on that bill alright. Do we have ANY chance of the Pixies at all at all?

Chance of the Pixies is at best, slim, I'd say.

They're already playing three gigs here this summer, aren't they?

They are indeed. I choose to see that as proof of their love of all things Irish. Which actually increases the chance of them appearing. Obvious, when you think of it.

ATN might grab them too seeing that they scooped Orbital last year from the Galway Arts Festival lineup.

Out of the Creamfields line-up so far I'd much prefer Coxy, Nina or Bicep.

Last year when I saw Sons of Kemet on the line up, I thought "Nice. Shame it's not The Comet is Coming or Melt Yourself Down". Turns out Sons of Kemet was my set of the weekend. Outstanding!

I tried listening to SoK last year after a recommendation and could not get into them

had a feeling it would be Calvin Harris as the big dance act this year, looks likely it will be the case.

Well they can stick him on the Main Stage out of the road whilst the rest of us get an early shift in the Woods/Terminus.

Imagine the meltdown on this thread if he gets the headliner treatment in the first announcement.

I think hes grand for what he is. Having said that, his booking would be a strong signal to the few remaining scobies who dont attend EP already to head down and wreck everyones good time.

I don't understand why this Calvin Harris scutter even gets mentioned in this thread.

you'll get banned from here for saying that (i very much agree though, you'd swear he was picture this)

he's not the most offensive in fairness,
he's got the midas touch when it comes to hits
one forgets how many there is and that a good few are solid tunes
and at least his stuff is relatively diverse as pop goes,
certainly beats the fck out of picture this in my book

    cheers

is this a ploy to ridicule me? :D

I do like the away the album with 'aceptable in the 80s' was mixed entirely on an Amiga from the early 90s. Appeals to my inner nerd I suppose.

Ah a headliner though? It would be a big meh from me folks.

I see your Calvin Harris, and raise you one Squarepusher.

Under controls fests hurts is great
    That song with Dizzy rascal
    Ready for the weekend
This is what you came for and we found love feat Rihanna

He doesn't have a shortage of good party songs. He has like 42 singles.

He wouldn't be high on my list but it would be fun.

    agreed, also...

I'm not alone is an oldskool banger
Feel so close was great too
    Sweet nothings with Florence
    Thinking about you
Slide with Frank Ocean is cool
really liked Giant with Rag & Bone man
(until i heard it far too many times on the radio)

on the flipside.. Promises with Sam Smith is bloody awful

as you say no shortage of party songs,
I go to EP with a bunch of radio friendly girls so his set
would be good craic for us as a group,
Dont worry, plenty of time for some chin stroking at the more alternative acts over the weekend

Would love Squarepusher but I don't think he'll get asked back after the turnout for his gig in 2012 at EP.

I missed that, as did everyone else by the sounds of it.
