Will potentially have a headache with GK and DEF, so not sure about that.

That is a scarily good squad
Well done. What is your team value?

I'm way off being able to afford that! Need to drop one of my goalkeepers completely.

Thanks, it's currently 107.6 The team above also leaves me with .1 in the bank. I had more team value built up but sacrificed it with the unlimited transfers e.g. lost circa .5 on Trent when I shipped him for the Sheffield gimps. Lost value on Salah when I shipped him for Sterling etc.

I'm not a fan of giving myself selection headaches because invariably I choose the right option on paper which proves to be the wrong option in reality.
As a Newcastle fan I was surprised to see Ritchie start at the weekend because he'd had a tweak and Lazaro was expected to start but he'd run through a brick wall and could be a great pick for the rest of the season, particularly with potentially new owners to impress.

I'm 4.3m off for that squad!! Or, a full Joel Ward!

I thought I had made a great squad earlier, but then noticed I had no goalkeeper.

Really hard to use the WC with so many open question. Son is a solid pick but looked poor the other night., Liverpool looked below par, is it Martial or Rashford etc.

Another week might well answer these questions......

Not sure if FH or WC is the way forward for me

A few more tweaks inspired by recent posts....for some reason I'd forgotten Ritchie is a defender

    McCarthy | Martinez

    TAA | Doherty | Ritchie | Robinson | Justin

KDB | Salah | Son | Bruno Fernandes | Saka

    DCL | Ings | Jiminez

There is a clear template emerging here alright.

I just can't get behind DCL, think he's an awful footballer, and you'll never want an Arsenal keeper.
    I'd rather Nketiah and Mount

I was the same with DCL
I bought him against all my beliefs
He has been excellent for me
He looked dangerous against Liverpool too
    And he is budget friendly
    Almost a no brainer .........

    Martin | Martinez

    TAA | Doherty | Ritchie | Lundstram | Justin

KDB | Mane | Son | Bruno Fernandes | Sarr

    Greenwood | Ings | Jiminez

0.0 itb .Could upgrade Martinez to McCarthy by downgrading Lundstram to Robinson.

I know Justin was quite attacking but at 4.7 in a Leicester side that doesn't have quite the plum fixtures that say Man U or Wolves have... I'd nearly prefer the Wolves double for defense with Saiss

I'd be worried about only having Martinez as your only playing goalkeeper alright as Leno might be back sooner rather than later and it might become a problem spot for you. I'd be nervous of Sheffield Utd assets at the moment also and Lundstram might be heavily rotated to boot.

There were 3 things that made me opt for the WC this week.

    1. I want as many weeks as possible to reap the benefits of the WC and I don't know that I would learn all that more with one extra gameweek.

    2. Many people are opting for the Free Hit in 38 and seem to think it could be an opportunity for decent gains.

3 there is also a slim possibility there might be another double if Covid testing threw a spanner in the works say, a FH chip would be nice to have in your back pocket then.

Haven't decided if i'm wildcarding or free hitting yet. Like Colking i'm leaning towards wildcard to get the most benefit out of it. WC team currently looks like this

    Pope / Martinez
    Doherty TAA Ritchie Azpi AWB
    KDB Mane Sarr Armstrong Bruno
    Ings DCL Jiminez

Brought Ritchie and Azpi in based on their performances yesterday but the rest of the team have been locked in since last Thursday. Really like the look of Armstrong. Not sure if I need him and Ings though so also considering a front line of Rashford Jimi and Connolly (as bench fodder). Also tempted by PVA instead of Azpi (he's so much fun to own) but his fixtures ain't great.

    A or B anyone?

I was pretty settled on this

    (A)

    DDG-Button

    TAA-Doherty-Lascelles-Taylor-Ngakia

    KDB-Son-Salah-Saka-Guendouzi

    PEA-Rashford-Jimenez

But if I leave out Salah I can afford this:

    (B) with 1.2 ITB

    DDG-Button

    TAA-Doherty-Ritchie-Taylor-Justin

    KDB-Son-Fernandes-Saka-Saint-Maximin

    PEA-Rashford-Jimenez

    Honestly I don’t like either
Your forward line is weakening the rest of your team especially midfield too much

It’s too soon to go without either salah or mane imo . The league isn’t won just yet

Also. Saint max. He is in way too many teams . He plays for Newcastle . Their striker Joelinton even managed to score at the weekend against 10 men. People are losing the run of themselves !

I like both teams but could be back to the drawing board :D

Saint Max is there as my 5th MF. I had 2.4 ITB to use up.

I always go big up front and I can't see myself going without PEA or Aguero for the run in.

Salah has Palace next who can be stubborn and then City. Not 2 plump fixtures, if he even plays against Palace.

First draft so any input welcome lads

    Martinez Pope
    Robinson Saiss Boly Justin Richie
    Bruno Saka KDB Mane Saint-Max
    Jiminez Rashford Vardy

Will play 3 uptop all games

Is Robinson nailed once Sheff Utd have everyone back?
Even then their fixtures are horrid.

    For now, sticking with

    DDG-Button

    TAA-Doherty-Lascelles-Taylor-Ngakia

    KDB-Son-Salah-Saka-Guendouzi

    PEA-Rashford-Jimenez

Possible changes tomorrow, but likely won't:

Taylor could make way for Holgate/Femenia, but don't want to kneejerk him out, he'll not be playing City every week.

Other move I could make would be Guendouzi-Rashford to Fernandes-(Greenwood or Connolly) but I rather have MF than Striker Fodder

Seems like people are picking Salah over Mane on WC...does he edge it cause he's on pens?

  • Registered Users Posts: 20,340 ✭✭✭✭Rikand

I hadnt really planned on using the WC but after my disastrous first gameweek back I'm thinking about going ham on it.

    Underlined are additions

    Pope | Martinez
    TAA | Doherty | Baldock | Taylor | Robinson
    Salah | KDB | Bruno | Grealish | Fleck
Vardy | Abraham | Jiminez (VAJ)

I'd love to bring back the VAJ frontline, but if Vardy doesnt produce in his next game, I can change that to a JAR frontline with Rashford in pretty handy. Beef up somewhere else then afterwards if needs be.

Prefer a 3-4-3, but 4-3-3 or 3-5-2 optional later on depending on results. Only 7 changes though and feel like I should be making more when it comes to a wildcard.

Not bringing in Son so that he can produce for the rest of ye. if I owned him, he would blank indefinitely

I’m not sure but at 4.0 he’s worth the risk imo. I’ve only .1 itb

I’m going to hold onto Justin for tomorrow’s game, also got rid of Martinez for McCarthy. By the way who would you drop out of this lot For the next gw?

    McCarthy,

    TAA,Doherty,Ritchie, Justin,

    KDB,Mane,Son,Bruno Fernandes, Sarr,
    Ings, Jimenez
    Other Subs, Martin, Greenwood, Robinson.

Ah jesus do I really have to finish wildcard tomorrow!

No idea what keeper I want. Don't fancy any of them.

Anyone even remotely tempted to go with none of Mane and Salah?? Way down the rankings and nothing to lose.

I was earlier, without them I can really strengthen elsewhere, struggled to spend the rest to be honest.

TAA is the one I'm thinking of going without. Almost gaurunteed no clean sheet in 32. Think Aurier has been matching him for attacking output for a while now.

Looking at this now (though its almost too rounded, and I will end up leaving the wrong person on the bench inevitably)

    Starting 11 most week

    DDG

    Ritchie, Doherty, Aurier,

    Mane, KDB, Son, Martial, Fernandes,

Jimenez, DCL (a climbdown for me)

    Subs: Martin, Saiss, Femenia, Nketiah

However, though some have said you need a big squad to cope with the games, I think its likely to be the obvious. We will see more injuries or unexpected rests, but the big players are all likely to play some part in the games. So we will see more 1 pointers but less unexpected 0s.
