PVA is an odd choice for most expensive defender, better options at same price or less, particularly when you already have CP defence covered.

Personally, I don't think Caballos is a good choice, he isn't guaranteed enough minutes. You could see a good few 1s from him but you are relying on him as a starter. Imo, go cheaper there and upgrade elsewhere. You could easily upgrade your bench to more useful players without getting rid of premiums.

    Getting close
    Pope
    AA Digne Pieters
    Salah Sterling KDB Mount
    Abraham Pukki Barnes

    Button/ Cantwell/ Lund/ Hanley

Two choices are Digne or Zink thinking Digne

Then its KDB/ Barnes V Aguero/ dedonker with cantwell starting

Am I the only one who thinks that Pieters is a terrible player to have? At least one of his assists on opening day was a ball hoofed forward and history suggests that that is the end of his attacking points for the season. He isn't worth 4.6 when there are plenty of others at 4.5. Burnley defence certainly isn't good enough to justify a double up for those with Pope. Pieters ownership on GW1 was almost nothing and for good reason, if he hadn't got two assists that day nobody would even consider him.

    Had a decent GW1 & 2 sitting at 140k

    Since it's all gone sour - 1.4mil

    WC is:

    Pope (Button)

Digne | Robertson | Walker | Lundstrum (Kelly)

Sterling | Salah | Cantwell | McGinn (Robinson)

    Aguero (C) | Abraham (Greenwood)

Couple of risks and a lot riding on the top 2. Both are in smashing form. Any thoughts?

I think he is an alright pick but would expect Taylor to take his place. Dyche tends to leave a player in once he is doing alright , whereas most other managers would move back to the first choice Taylor quicker. I got lowton as he is more assured of his spot than Pieters. Apart from Lundstram, soynucu a C pal defender . I can't see any better value than a 4.5 burnley defender. Their very favourable fixtures almost move them to the top of the pile .

You convinced me enough to look into that. Just glancing over the local newspapers ratings of their players, there seems to be a little criticism on his defending in each game he's played. If true you'd imagine Dyche would be well aware of what he's seen too. I'm switching to Lowton for now unless some other 4.5 flutters at me before deadline. Pity we didn't know Taylor was taking over. Him being 4.4 and all that!

    Opinions please lads:

    Team A
    Pope Button
    Zinchenko Lowton Masuaku Guilbert Hanley
    Salah KdB Son Hayden Guendozi
    Aguero Auba Ayew

    Team B
    Pope Button
    Digne Lowton Maitland-Niles Guilbert Hanley
    Salah Sterling H.Wilson Mount Guendozi
    Aguero Haller Barnes

    Team C
    Pope Button
    Lowton Maitland-Niles Guilbert Hanley Kelly
    Salah Sterling Richarlison Mount Guendozi
    Aguero Haller Barnes

Team A is a definite no for me. Playing 3 of Masuaku, Guilbert, Hanley, Hayden, Guendouzi and Ayew each week would fill me with dread tbh.

It's a toss up between the other 2 teams, but I don't like either back line. I think you need to downgrade Sterling or Aguero and put cash elsewhere.

I have similar issues, I want Auba, but its either him or Sterling (I have Salah and KdB also). Both would destroy the rest of my team.

Thanks for the advice. I just can't seem to settle on a team that doesn't include Sterling AND Aguero. Could have 1 with KdB instead it's just worrying not having Kun at this stage.

    Back to the drawing board....

The only way Sterling and Aguero would work is to sell Salah, which isn't something I'd recommend either!

I think its 2 from Sterling, Aguero and Salah. The 3rd one will kill you at times, but you just have to live with it. Very few team will have all 3 (especially if they have KdB, Auba, Vardy etc) so we are all in a similar boat.

Similarly, I can't decide between Aguero and KDB. At the moment it looks like:

    Aguero + James, or:
    KDB + Pukki

The latter also allows me to do Tielemans to Maddison (who I think will ultimately be the better Leicester choice) and have TAA over VVD.

Alternatively, I could keep Tielemans and do Pukki to Haller.

Considering doing it next week now
Carrying a fair few passengers and should have a bit more info on a few players

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,022 ✭✭✭jamesbere

    Right wildcard done

    Pope
    TAA Otamendi Digne KWP
    Sterling Kdb Mane Tielemans
    Abraham Haller

    Button Lundstram Greenwood Guendouzi
    1.0 itb
Going for Mane over Salah cos it gives me that extra money to adapt my side if I need to.
Happy with this now, at last

Is sterling worth it over KDG?

Problem with taking him out is that it would be so hard to get him back.

    Mount and Haller.

Honestly a very very easy decision.

    Sometimes the mind is clouded....

    Thanks :)

Really, really tempted by Auba now that Lacazette is out. Would mean leaving Sterling or KdB out though?

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,779 ✭✭✭Benimar

    Is this asking for trouble?

    Pope

    Digne, Otamendi, Mings, Lundstram
    Salah, Sterling, KdB, McGinn
    Aubameyang, Barnes

    Button, Dunk, Cantwell, Greenwood

I can't shake the feeling that Auba could be gold.

    The 'sensible' option would be:

    Pope
    Robertson, Digne, Otamendi, Mings, Lundstram
    Salah, Sterling, KdB, Cantwell, Guendouzi
    Haller, Pukki, Barnes

    Any opinions?

Not asking for trouble at all. I like option one. Make your own decisions, go with your gut, That's what this game is all about.

For example I've had TAA and Robertson from gw, not many seem to still do but I just think they will be worth the doble up long term.

In saying that, I'd try squeeze one of them in :P

    Pope
    Digne Maitland-Niles Lowton Lundstram
    Salah KdB Mount
    Aguero Haller Auba
    (Button Douglas L. Guendozi Hanley)

    Think I'm done....

    Pope
    Trent Digne Zinc Lund
    Salah KDB Mount James
    Aguero C Abraham

    Button Pukki Cantwell Hanley

Aguero V Sterling was the main balance question, but C Aguero just feels right
Obviously Pukki will play ahead of Lund most weeks-
Abraham just gets nod for me over Barnes, think Chelsea will score more goals even if Barnes will be involved in a higher % of goals

Ya I’d love that team if it had some Liverpool defensive cover, could maybe downgrade McGinn or else get Mane instead of Salah?

    Pope (4.0)
    Taa, digne, ota, pieters, Lund
    Salah, kdb, sterling, mount, cant
    Pukki Haller ayew

    V template that

    Pope (4.0)
    Taa, digne, ota, pieters, Lund
    Salah, kdb, sterling, ceballos, cant
    Abrahams, Haller, ayew

Less template with ceb and Abraham in for mount and pukki

    Pope (4.0)
    Taa, ota, soy, lowton, Lund
    Salah, kdb, sterling, gwendooozi, cant
    PEA, pukki ayew

    Four premiums including pea.

Which one ye think? First the safest but third looks pretty fun

Personally, I'd go with this but I'd switch Cantwell to Dendonker and Pukki to Abraham. I think you need Chelsea attacking cover for their run of good fixtures. I also have no faith in Norwich. They have the worst defence in the league and their goals against will likely be a lot worse by the end of the day. Sooner or later they will realise that they are in a relegation dogfight and change their style of play to concede less.

Think I'm more or less set

    Pope(4.0)
    TAA Digne Lund Mings (Kelly)
    Salah Sterling Mount Ceballos (Douglas)
    Aguero Haller (ayew)

Worried about Ceballos a little given his game time but surely emery has to realise that arsenal just look so.much better when he's on the pitch sooner or later.

Might consider rotating swaps of Haller to pukki and back in depending on their fixtures for the weeks ahead
