Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Carbery is class but he's just a bit too small/brittle.

That could be a right sickener for Carberry and Ireland.

I don't think that particular injury had anything to do with Carberys size or durability. He just twisted awkwardly. Pretty sure Toner did something similar last season and he's 7 feet tall.

I hate these warm up games

    Porter at loose head

    Called it

Knee I think, seemed to get caught under him at a bad angle.

I've a feeling our world cup chances just went down the tunnel on a stretcher. Even if Sexton has somehow rediscovered his form over the holiday I can't see him surviving concussion free through 3 matches of crunching tackles from big English and Welsh backrows all trying to book a place on the plane by making a big impact.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,542 ✭✭✭dublinman1990

Carbery was crying on the pitch because he doesn't want to miss his first WC for Ireland.

Henderson & Marmion are now on the pitch.

I would doubt Carberry will make it

Luke Pierce has no idea how to ref the breakdown. Missed penalties and others that never were.

Absolutely gutted for him if that’s the case, he was playing so well. Absolute mare.

When did Sexton last get concussed?

Tadgh Brirne doing what the rest of the forwards have been unable to do effectively for the last hour and turning over ball.

Maybe watch the Leinster match’s and sexton when he was fit

He wasn’t fit for the 6 nations...that was clear to see

Nobody says he can’t do it against Italy

It’s can he do it against the big boys is the problem

I didn’t see anyone else doing it against Italy, and if they can’t do it against Italy they definitely can’t against the big boys.

Here's a little look at Carbery when he got stretchered off the pitch.
Carbery makes way on a stretcher after a challenge, and it looks like it could be his ankle that was affected. He was limping badly but you would hope that the injury is not too severe. He's put in a solid shift today.

Connacht's Jack Carty comes in to replace him.

Here's Michael Glennon's take on it.
"Ireland didn't need that. A palpable sense of disappointment in the stadium as Carbery is take off on a cart. The best paid plans of mice and men..."

Any reason there are so many spare seats?

€50 quid for the majority of the cheapest tickets. €70 for the wales match. Huge GAA match on today, Premier League is back, People are on holidays.

Warm up games for the last world cup had a load of tickets for half that amount, if not cheaper and they were for some of the really good seats too.

Boom is getting boomier and the IRFU are gouging for warm up games. An opportunity to pack out the stadium missed.

That plus, going to Japan is not going to be cheap, so a lot of fans you'd imagine are saving their money for that.

    + it's Free to Air

JvDF and POM are not on the team

Did Ryan come on as a loosehead and Healy come on as a tighthead?

EDIT: They're both in their usual spots now anyway scrum wise.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 18,958 ✭✭✭✭Shefwedfan

Toner done similar v Minster in semi last season

That was a 4-6 week turn around

I hope to see everyone in mass tonight. Plus lighting a candle, oh yeah they don’t work unless you donate so the cheap people at least throw in a 50 cent

    Ryan on for Jack Mc
    Healy on for Porter

Porter switched to loosehead when Ryan came on, then Healy came on for Porter at loosehead.

Worry is still have a few tough warm up games ahead, really don’t want to see anyone else stretchered off. Will be interesting now to see how Murray/Sexton look in twickenham.

Will they even play them in Twickenham?

I would leave them till wales at home

England will be gunning for that match, send out the reserves

Assume that's Jack McGrath out of contention for the 31 now.

Also if Carbery injury is bad, you'd imagine that Sexton will be wrapped in cotton wool (if he hadn't been already).

Wouldn't rule Jack Mc out yet

Sexton can't rock up v Scotland with no gametime
