I recently purchased a Weber e310 BBQ and find it great. It has the GBS grates which can fit the various accessories etc.
I was going to get the Weber poultry roaster but it's quite expensive for what it is.

Wondering if anyone has experience of using another brand or type of roaster that is easier on the pocket ?

I bought a Jamie Oliver one for about €15 but they seem out of stock.

Burnhard do one also though and they are supposed to be very good. Check their site

Save yourself €100 and just buy a wire brush. Absolutely no difference.

Talk about something that didn't need to be invented!!

I'd like to do more than burgers and hot dogs on the BBQ.
I'm interested in attempting a roast. I see lots on YouTube for brisket. Is that an American cut of beef?

I'd love to do a lamb leg or a beef roast.

What cuts do i get from the butcher?

    Any other tips much appreciated

Do a lamb leg, get it deboned.

Do a indirect heat and keep it around 200c with the lid down and should be perfect after a hour or so.

I'd do a rub with mainly cumin before you stick it on the bbq.

    What BBQ do you have?

Found these in B&Q. Certainly smell like real charcoal anyway! Give off a bit of nice smoke to but didnt cook for long enough to make a difference either way.

Until they're all gunked up with grease.

I used them for several years on my previous bbq. They get pretty gunky but they're grand.

New bbq has those flavour bars - I don't miss the ceramic or lavarock

I’m open to correction on this but I think brisket is not something you’ll come by easily in Ireland. The Americans feed cattle in a way we don’t.

Butchers like James Whelan will do that for you and a number of other butchers that specialise in decent cuts but it's not cheap- for all the work, you don't end up with much for your money- I personally prefer pork belly which is about 1/2 the price and IMHO, far tastier

We had two T-bone steaks on Weber this eve. Slightly too well done but we still finding our feet with temp.
Great to not have the usual steaky smell lingering in the kitchen afterwards.

This, for me, is one of the great benefits of an outdoor grill.
Did some hake here and no fishy smells!

I smoke the bejaysus out the kitchen cooking steak! And we've a kitchen/living room set up.

Yep and if don't spot the basket of clean washing sitting in the corner then all has to be washed again. I'd say we'll be barbecuing christmas eve in this house!

We barbecued on Christmas Day. Our daughter and husband had just moved into their new house and everything was in boxes, so they were starving and had barbecued steak sandwiches for lunch! We have Christmas dinner on Christmas Eve.

Husband actually asked me when the bbq came if we could have steak for Christmas dinner this year....
But then would like turkey and all the trimmings the next day! Think I'll ship him off to his Ma on Stephens' Day!

You can still have the turkey. I cook it on the BBQ every year and it tastes fantasti

edit: Just realised im in yhe GAS forum. I do it in the Weber kettle but a 3 burner gas would allow the same thing.

Heat and a wire brush for the grate.
Dont bother cleaning the outside of it.

Ran out of patio gas today right before we had some friends over for a socially distance bbq. Took going to 5 different places before I could find some in stock.

That sounds a bit excessive, I have a genesis 330 and use a cannister every 2 months with heavy use, normally 3-4 times a week and sometimes up to a hour at a time for a roast. Recently someone on here posted they were using a lot of gas on their genesis and turnout out to have a leak somewhere

I always have a second bottle full on standby just in case, that way i can use all the gas in the canister without having to worry about running out mid cook.

I’ll see how this next one goes

It’s brand new so hopefully not leaking
