Any recommendations for Galway city to watch the racing .
Requirements would be nice screen, not too packed, Sound on , good Guinness.
Nice food / open fire and proximity to bookies preferable.

I am not a Wegian myself, but I often go up to Galway for Royal Ascot Week.

Kennedys , north end of Eyre Square next door to Boyles and across the road from Paddy Power. There is oodles of spots around there for grub. Lovely down to earth Wegian townies and they look after the racing fans. Big screen etc and pints very reasonable for Eyre Square.

Wegians are mad for racing , so I am sure there are lots of alternatives.

It is a sound house, just be polite etc, and they look after punters. Never any hassle in there and once the racing is over you are in the heart of the city.

Enjoy it, Galway is a great town.

Unfortunately not but I'm sure a certain website can be accessed to purchase one for an hour or so. She can do runner to the bookies for us. Cant be letting pints go stale

I think Santini has a chance, but I am a Delta Work fan myself. Looking forward to seeing how presenting Percy runs on Sunday. At some point he has to step up and show us what he is really made of. I am still intrigued to see where Frodon is going. As soon as they go NRNB I am going to have a bet on him for the Gold Cup, if they keep the double figure price going.

Getting excited now, I hope they all get around safely this weekend, should be great stuff.

If the Festival was starting this afternoon, my bets would be...

    Supreme Novice - Soviet Pimpernel
Arkle - Not sure yet. But probably Notebook, De Bromhead knows the deal.
Champion Hurdle - Klassical Dream ( it just wins :P:P)
Mares - Honey Suckle / BDD reverse forecast.
    4 miler - Truckers Lodge

Ballymore - Asterion Forlong ( assuming he goes here, Envoi Allen fans beware)
    RSA - Champ
Queen Mother - Defi Du Seuil ( richly deserved )

Marsh Novice - Mister Fisher, Brewinupastorm ( could go for the Arkle yet)
Pertemps - Treacys Enniscorthy ( would win anywhere at this stage, I hope they send him over )
    Ryanair - A Plus Tard
    Stayer - Paisley Park

    Triumph - Allmankind
    Albert Bartlett - Latest Exhibition
Gold Cup - Delta Work ( If Frodon runs I am having a bet also)

The handicaps are clusterphucks and I never go in heavy if I am honest. Weights are not out yet and when you add in the ground and the jockey bookings I would rather wait for the night before. Small beans anyways, handicaps are difficult to win.

    Supreme Novice - Master Debonair
    Arkle - Cash Back
Champion Hurdle - Little bit less confident after Sunday but i still think Sharjah has a huge chance
    Mares - Honeysuckle
    4 miler - Champagne Classic

    Ballymore - Envoi Allen
    RSA - Allaho
    X Country - No bet
Champion Chase- Undecided, will have a clearer view after the Game Spirit this weekend.

    Marsh Novice - nothing yet
    Mares Novice - Coolreevy
    Ryanair - Min
    Stayers - No bet

    Triumph - Gosheen
    Albert Bartlett - No bet
Gold Cup - Lostintranslation if he's fit after Kempton, Al Boum Photo if he's not 100%

Soviet Pimpernels form is about 2 stone off what’s needed don’t waste your first bet on him

I honestly think Abacadabras is a good thing in the supreme
Strongest form in the book with Envoi Allen earlier in the year
Won his own race very cosily
Nothing to frighten connections declared that I can see

    Would be very confident

I won't until the race, i've both covered just in case.

I think Shishkin is massively overhyped and underpriced.Nothing of any note in either its bumper or the hurdle it won.Abacadabras for me too.

Any recommendations for decent pubs in Cheltenham after the racing?

I was very confident on Abra but Asterion Forlonge has thrown a spanner in the works. But Abracadbras time was way faster on slower ground over Xmas. Was also faster than Aramons win which was on good ground the year before. Darver Stars 2nd to Honeysuckle shows his form is solid. Elliot has to be confident

Think Mullins is aiming Asterion Forlong at the Ballymore

That's what he hinted at after the race alright, so it's very likely he goes to the Supreme.

Wherever you can get in the door to be honest, best chance up you head up towards Lansdown Road I found. Anywhere near where the buses drop off right in the centre are rammed.

That hotel facing the train station is a an experience isn’t it!

Shishkin runs against some decent yardsticks today for the first time and if as I suspect he isnt the machine Nicky would have us believe then now is the time to back your fancy NRNB as I can see a shake up in the prices.

Either way this is sure to happen Hugh Janus.

It epitomes the crap that goes on less than 5 weeks before the race. They have a favourite based on one completed start over hurdles. The bookies love this bullshít.

The only positive that I can take out of Shiskin is that he is the same owners as Asterion Forlonge, it is highly unlikely they will take each other on. The supreme novice picture is only getting going.

Horses like Master Debonair and Chantry House are still in the Mix. Abracadabra etc. Whoever wins the big hurdle in Newbury on Saturday will get chopped as well.

Wasn't that impressed by Shiskin. Not sure how good that form is. Abra the form horse in my eyes.

To be fair he did it very easily and his jumping was very slick but the runner up has run 18 times winning 2 chases and a class 5 maiden hurdle at Southwell which isn,t anywhere near Cheltenham form.
