I don't think Stevie Wonder would even pay close to €800 for that.

I used to see it around town and it was lowered on coilovers and had gold BBS style alloys from what I remember.

EDIT: it actually is still on the coilovers. I also remember seeing this for sale on and off for a good while..

Terrible ad alright, but strikes me just as a place holder until the seller gets time to put together a proper one.

It'd be interesting to know what sort of nick it is in now. The chap I sold it to (he has an account here but doesn't post) replaced it with an 08 Nissan GTR.

    Want a 225 TT as a keeper.
    Absolutely love them.

Really wish I had the money as these will have to go up in price.

I agree. As be's mentioned on the forum about certain models they will likely never be as cheap as at the moment. Money wouldn't be so much the problem for me and while there is plenty of space here I wouldn't have any water tight garage to drop it into and potentially the commitment for it.

I think they are one of the more timeless designs that have remained relatively fresh from the late 90's/ early 00's. Due in no small part to the lack of big fried egg type design headlights that go half way back that bonnet which seemed to be the order of the day from that period. That one looks to be in nice order and seems nice spec. No doubt the more sensitive type will be put off by the KY registration.

How does it have a BAM engine, was it replaced at some point?

    Is the 225 not BAM?

Not until later. Early ones were APX.

I’d say the current seller is probably just unaware of that

Reliable jeeps under 2k are few and far between, even a well looked after one will be very low mpg and there could be a world of pain in the pocket at any minute.

If you're not worried about mpg then you could do a lot worse than a 20 ish year old Pajero or L200.

Land Cruisers are the bomb but you'd want to be getting a few grand for your Passat to be able to get one for under 2k cash.

If you need an all round great reliable 4x4 then I would say Landcruiser, if you want reliability and the ability to climb a mountain while staying in the drivers seat I'd say Hilux.

Either way the older the better but they don't come cheap.

Not many bargains out there since Covid took hold. The value of old cars seems to be increasing, most likely due to people downsizing and saving money.

Not sure if they'd be big enough for the OP, but you'd get a nice 2nd gen Rav4 (2004 ish) under 2k easy. Vitara xl7 too. Both of those would be very reliable but maybe too small?
