No, imports and exports are not included for beam calculations, only what’s actually produced by your herd is counted.

Thanks your right-advisor told me the same

    No help on above ^
But by pure coincidence the adviser rang today for a chat so was asking him about this. He said you can opt for the extended deadline but if you meet the target by the original date, they will take that as you meeting the target. So if you're iffy about figures, sign up for the Dec date & it's no harm.

Also, the below is pure tosh apparently. So ignore it. It's day to day. He said Agriland had to apologise about it being incorrect but I didn't see it?

hi how can you 'can opt for the extended deadline' ? write them a letter?

Go into Agfood-> Exceptional Aid Measures-> Select Scheme to Enter.

Then select the BEAM option which applies to you. This takes about 15 seconds to load, and will bring up the 'Select Application Type' part below.

Hit the select button like I've done & the 4 options will appear like above.
Click 'Defer 5% Nitrates Reduction' -> Select Yes & submit.

They messed up two of the numbers. Basically how munch you have left to use, and much they think you are going to use. I got the letter today and could see it was wrong.

If you were in compliance with the scheme you would look like you were outside it.
And if, like my self you were outside compliance, it makes you look like you were inside it.

Are the proper figures on ag food?

I just got the letter in the post. Originally according to their calculations between two cows I sold and one that died, I had enough removed to cover the one cow reduction and be able to keep the yearling heifers.

The calculation today means I’ll have to sell all 8 yearlings in the next two weeks to qualify for the scheme including my two I was keeping as replacements. Then after the 1st of July, but two 4/5 stars for the other beef scheme or be fined for that.

I’ll take the €540 hit for the beam instead of stressing.

But the calculation today was wrong so I wouldn't base anything off that. They said there will be an accurate letter later in the week. That's the one you should follow.

Could all this not be done online. Never got as many letters about a scheme ever

afaik the one I received today is the recalculated one. I hope I’m wrong.

Edit. I presumed the “reciently received” one was the one from a few weeks ago.

Yeah I think the one we got today is the one they should have sent out a few weeks ago (or at least I hope it is or I am in trouble). The proper one is on agfood anyway.

Got the letter today dated the 21st. The row called balance available and department estimate are mixed up. I nearly had a heart attack. Also I thought they were calculating the numbers down to the days yet on my own tracker which only works on monthly balance, the numbers are exact. Was I incorrect in my thinking re days?

oh ok, I mis-read the text today so. The figures on my letter today made no sense though :(:(

yeah, I just checked agfood. The figures seem correct on that. Like you say, the rows are mixed up on the letter.

It appears that the balance available and the depts estimates are mixed up.

The screen shot from agfood is the smoother looking image.

I should be ok by that and the online calculator.

I got a letter early March, I was under the limit as I expected to be, but the letter I got today I will now be over the limit, hopefully it’s an mistake, this whole thing is starting to turn in a bit of a joke

I never seen such a fukin mess of a scheme. They haven't a clue. You would imagine some of them would have proofed some of them before they went out.

I’m glad they found it fast. I got a land where. I saw the change. It’s all mams money and I had to warn her and mu brother who is her accountant to be ready for a fine.

I see you can now change your reduction period of you wish

I feel if there is another cock up with this scheme, it's bound to bring the house of cards down.

When I read the letter yesterday I also got a land. I reckoned I must have seriously cocked up with my calculations even though I'm pretty much on the ball with it.
I phoned two elderly neighbours to tell them to ignore the letter as DAFM made a mistake. They only claimed on a couple of animals each but imagine if they had panicked and sold stock.

That's a national school mistake. If I made that mistake in my job I'd be out on my fukin ear

I wonder when did they realise the error. Obviously they had gone in the post before they realised

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 977 ✭✭✭leoch

The person who made the mistake probably got a pay rise and got promotion

Was actually quite late on Monday before they made an announcement on the error so they didn't cop it until their phones started hopping after people received their Monday post.

Obviously they never heard of proof reading something before they dispatch. Well able to find 0.00001 of an acre of an over claim in SFP though. Legends

When they (dafm) can't get it right what chance have the rest of us.
One of the worst designed schemes ever.
