For anyone who thought Bishoff being in charge of SD would make any difference.

Big Dave Melthead. I bet he’s never lied about a story to sell a newsletter or two.

I heard Bischoff wouldn't be involved in the creative process on Smackdown. It was more to do with backstage stuff, dealing with Fox executives and production or something like that. So I don't know if we can expect any big changes from Bischoff being there. Vince is still the boss though, so there's very little you can do to get around that.

I wouldn't expect Bischoff to ever have much to input, he's a massive spoofer tbh.

I'm not even sure how this is going to work. Isn't Nick Aldis technically the only guy in NWA simply because he has the title now?

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,611 ✭✭✭✭ERG89

They signed Eli Drake but other than that looking at the trailer you have Sienna, James Storm....Billy Corgan smiling politely
It's very hard to do anything now as you have ROH, Impact, AEW, MLW, GCW & overseas promotions are looking at touring like OWE, AAA, New Japan, WXW & I bet CMLL cosying up to ROH is them trying to do more US shows too.
I expect more promotions to try run shows next year around Wrestlemania weekend so the market while growing are eventually going to stop working together like PWG are still benefiting from with the 2019 BOLA lineup.

    https://whatculture.com/wwe/wwe-in-talks-to-buy-fite-tv

"That's a nice pay-per-view streaming service you've got there," Vince McMahon typed into his Twitter drafts, smiling. "Shame if someone... bought it."

Regardless of whether or not the WWE Chairman chose to meme himself in this latest pursuit, it looks like his promotion are set to fire the next major shot in 2019's new wrestling war, with the Wrestling Observer's Dave Meltzer writing that that company are interested in buying the FITE platform. WWE officials have held talks with more expected to happen in the coming weeks.

FITE, of course, has not only provided a home to All Elite Wrestling's three pay-per-views (and All In) in international markets, but also shows from Impact, Ring Of Honor, and a horde of independent groups.

This is a potentially game-changing move as it would effectively force AEW and other competitors to drastically change their methods of distribution. There's a good chance of it going down, too, as Meltzer claims WWE's interest is so strong that meetings have already been held about the situation.

In his writeup, Meltzer speculates that WWE might use FITE as part of the tiered Network subscription levels confirmed during last month's Q2 2019 earnings call. On the other hand, there's every chance they're only doing it to stifle competition. Time will tell."

Looks like NXT will be moving to Fox Sports 1 as a two hour show on Wednesdays 8-10pm.

Directly counter-programming against AEW on TNT so it'll probably mean NXT will have to be a live show as well.

Will see if it's still gonna be the same format. A good thing about it is you don't see all the same people every week.

That's the death of NXT. You'll get a rake of Raw recaps and Smackdown previews to pad the time.

Hopefully this new NXT takes the better guys from the current NXT which will probably remain as developmental and continue as it is but they also add guys from 205 to the new NXT on FS1.

I'm sorry but that's genius. Vince McMahon is relentless when he sets his sights on you. It'd absolutely suck for the likes of AEW if it happened, but landing a big blow on his competition without giving any of them a penny...at some stage you have to sit back and admire that. He always, always finds a new way to create an edge when tested.

Hopefully it's BS, MLW just announced Fite will be carrying their PPV's too. Fite have said it's not true anyway.

I dont think it's likely that AEW will use Fite in the long term, why share the wealth when your drawing far more buys than other companies.

This would hurt the likes of GCW or an MLW exponentially more than it would AEW who are far more likely going to start doing it in house instead.

Dang. I hope they feel the pinch in the ratings.

AJPW not NJPW, in a 6 man tag involving Omori and Iwamota.

If the blood is that bad between Punk and the WWE I'd be pretty sure Vince wouldn't sign off on that happening.

He absolutely would in a heartbeat. It’d be Punk who’d have to put grudges aside for it to happen.

Superstar Billy Graham once claimed that there was paedophilia in the WWF to extort money from Vince and Vince still put him in the hall of fame.

In wrestling gossip news, Rollins popped the question...

As long as the wedding isn't held in the ring they should be fine!

Surely Becky should be popping the question?

    Good luck to them both.
