Black gangs continuing to act like their London brothers and playing gangster. Travellers in vests and bad haircuts unable for their cider. West Dublin drug dealers throwing shapes in H&M's finest tat and flashy Instagram watches. It's like The Warriors out there, all facing off at Longitude.

    I'd be slightly concerned ,

A statement department warning for an event in Ireland is unheard of , regardless of what artists are playing

It's not concerning in the slightest. The US embassy advises their citizens for the most average of things.

For example, on the 11th of May there was a small protest at the Israeli Embassy in Dublin.

I didn't know about it, it was another day for me. The vast majority of the population were unaffected by it/ weren't even aware it happened.

And yet the US Embassy had a demonstration alert with advice such as "keep a low profile", "notify friends and family of your safety" and "exercise caution".

    https://ie.usembassy.gov/demonstration-alert-scheduled-protest-at-embassy-of-israel-dublin-ireland-on-may-11-2019/

It's a box ticking excercise on their behalf. There is always the potential for some scumbag yoked out of it to pull a blade. But the media would have you believe they're acting on some definite info and of course, it generates clicks for the newspaper.

Overall: it's quite common for the US embassy to have a certain way with words, and this one is no different to the regular "alerts" they throw out.

The amount of young girls today that were out of their minds on drink and god knows what else around rathfarnham was horrendous..
One young girl collapsed on the main road..god knows how she wasnt run over, these kids were only 14-15.
I certainly would not be letting my two teenagers any where near longtitide, even though i live 5 mins away.

Loads of them around the city centre drinking vodka in plain sight around lunch time... Already looking worse for wear. Outfits were a shocker too.

Outside store street Garda station too..

Yep that sums it up fairly well.

In reality the underbelly is 16 year olds falling around the place, showing too much skin and trying painfully hard to get it all up on Instagram.

What was predicted? the trouble was not at the festival.

The animals that caused the trouble were at the festival though. The warning was correct.

Knives, hatchets and petrol bombs outside a nightclub wouldn't really be considered "standard for Dublin"

Knives and guns in the city?
Not really uncommon in recent times when crime is Involved

Knives and guns aren't usually involved in rows outside nightclubs - neither are hatchets and petrol bombs

Because nothing happened at Longitude. Couldn't make it simpler for you.

So a large group that attended longitude violently attacked a pub after the event and you are telling me that the warning for potential violence at longitude was incorrect?

Friend worked security at the event this weekend and they had their work cut out dealing with groups of black kids intimidating and in one case assaulting white Irish lads. He said the vibe this year was noticeably more an edge than previous years.

Yes, the warning explicitly said to stay away from Longitude and surrounding areas.

But the incident on grafton street confirmed the fact that violent groups had been in attendance at longtitide. That confirms there was a potential for violence at the concert. Just because the incident didnt happen there doesnt make the warning invalid.

From what I’ve seen of that annual event its like a bad re-enactment of Love Island getting gradually more invaded :pac:

Must get a fright when what appears to be one of your onstage heroes suddenly up in your face snapping the old olive branch in half. Play wit fire you gon be lit

Music events, youth and violence, never before have these things combined in Ireland. It's a disgrace and obviously would never happen without dem fordeners!.

This - the article that was linked on the previous page

The article doesn't mention anything to identify those involved - just challenging the claim that this is somehow "standard for Dublin"
