I will more then likely change this a few times before the start but here is what i have got atm.

    Henderson / Button

Digne TAA Laporte / Lundstram Kelly

Salah Fraser Sterling Siggy / Dendoncker

    Jota Wilson Greenwood

    Have 0.5 in the bank.

Changed team again since I heard good comments on how De Bruyne is after becoming a key player for Man. City in pre-season. It means getting rid of a Man. City defender which is probably the right way to go as having Ederson and two from their defense would mean them conceding a goal becoming too much of a hit. Going to forget about playing 5 at the back as I think other systems allow more scope to transfer in attacking players who might hit form and become essential early on.

    Ederson
    Digne, Robertson, Alexander Arnold, Walker
    Salah, Sigurdsson, De Bruyne, Perez
    Wilson, Joelinton

    Button, Long, Dendoncker, Lundstram

    Set and forget keeper,
Defense spells out draw and even though Digne might not keep as many clean sheets as the others he has the best attacking points potential from a defender at that price in my opinion.
Perez should play just behind Vardy so hoping for a good number of goals for that price. The other tree hopefully will score well also.
Had to economise somewhere to keep the quality up elsewhere so pretty much a budget strike force that hopefully will still chip in with some goals. Joelinton is a bit of a gambol, but for 6mill. the options are fairly limited and I think he has the potential to score well.
Button seems the most popular 4mill. bench option keeper.
Long seemed to do well when Southampton got a new manager last season and I think he could get more game time than some of the other budget striker options. Dendoncker and Lundstram are cheap and seem to be getting their game.
    Any advice or opinions welcome.

I would be reluctant to be picking one from Lundstram, Kelly, Dendoncker and Greenwood to play each week.

Ya I actually changed Lundstram to Dunk and have Greenwood on thr bench.

Other then that I'll have to see how Kelly does with actually playing.

    Ryan
    Coleman - VVD - Zinchenko - Dunk
    Salah - Sterling - KDB - Perez - Jorginho
    Kane

    (Button - Greenwood - 4.5 forward - 4.0 def)

Has GW2 wildcard written all over it! But I like it.

    Pope/Ryan
VVD, Coleman, Zinchenko, Justin, Dunk Salah, Sterling, Ricky, Jota(av), Guendouzi
    Jiminez, Haller, DCL

    or

    Pope, Ryan
    VVD, Zinchenko, Coleman, Justin, Dunk
    Salah, Pogba, Siggy, Jorginho, Noble
    Aguero, Jiminez, McGoldrick

So I was pretty happy with the first team and then started thinking about VAR. I think we might see a lot of penalties early on before things settle down a bit.

As a result I've dropped Sterling, Ricky, Guendouzi, Jota, Haller and DCL and brought in all penalty takers.

    Thoughts please?

    Which team do you prefer?

Don't think Justin will start for Leicester.

Well he has been playing there in friendlies doing a very good job with Pereira pushed up on the wing. Seems likely they will start the season that way.

doubt pereira will be in their midfield

Think second team are way more pen dependant, won't contribute as much goals/assists from across the team so 1 is a lot stronger

I'd ditch Ryan, brighton will struggle this year.

Strikers are a massive gamble for consistent points

another quick change, ticks a few big 6 boxes. Matip's inclusion ahead of others might be a rotation risk but i felt cover was needed. Barkley playing further up the pitch might make him a must have at his price tag. wanted Spurs cover for the first few games.

    Henderson (Button)
    Dave Matip Duffy Zinchenko (Kelly/Lungstram)
    Sterling Salah Barkley Moura (Dendoncker)
    Kane Jiminez (Greenwood)

Is it risky to have 3 players above 10m?

I was reading on the reddit fpl page that more than 2 players above 10m is a waster as you only get value for money when you captain them.

Currently I have Salah, Sterling and Kane.

    Also my team is:
    Ryan (Stekelenburg)
Zinchencko Van Dijk Coleman Lundstram (Kelly)
    Salah Sterling Siggy Perez (Dendonker)
    King Kane (Mousset)

I plan on rotating Lundstram/Kelly/Mousset depending on the fixtures.
I was happy enough with the team until I read about having no more than 2 above 10m!

    That’s rubbish tbh
So you aren’t allowed have more than 2 premium attackers ?
    That’s a nice team
Similar to my own but you have gone the sterling road and I’ve gone kdb
If you are going Ryan then have Button as your second keeper
Having lundstrum and kelly is probably a risk but you will have mousset to play anyway I guess

Ah right good to hear! Yea I was questioning it alright!
Yea good shout on Button as second keeper. Hoping Mousset will be a nailed on starter for SU.

Barkely used to be a banker for an opening day goal in his Everton days too, scored on opening day 2013, 2015, and 2016

I remember having a similar team to you last year as well - I dont know if this is a good thing again :P

Very similar to both your teams now with KDB vs Sterling the main decision

    Ryan - Button

TAA - Coleman - Kelly - A.Smith (likely move prior to season) - Zinchenko

    Salah - Sterling - Perez - Dendoncker - Zaha

Kane - Barnes (was King) - Mousset

Thinking of trying something very different this time.

    Patricio / Fabianski
    Robertson, Boly, Coady, Cresswell, Diop
    Salah, Sterling, Grealish, Townsend, Hayden
    Firmino, Rashford. Greenwood

The 3 wolves/ west ham swap according to fixtures. You will not meet any of big 6 by doing this.
Not all that happy with Hayden but hey LOL

    Am I mad?

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,048 ✭✭✭Brian201888

Yes, very mad that's probably the worst team I've seen so far

Looks like a WC waiting to happen.

As you know, just cause they're not playing a top 6 side doesn't mean they'll get a CS. Why we always go for attacking DFs first and foremost.

Think you're missing out on the potential of Robertson or attacking WBs

My first draft..feel free to give me an honest opinion!!

    Ryan. Begovich

Dunk. Wan biassa. Kelly. Van dijk. Cathcart

    Grealish. Townsend. Salah. Bernard Anderson

    Barnes. Rashford. Aumbameyang.

Suggestions welcome as this is just the first team I have come up with. First issue is a lack of Liverpool defender, but the pricing is off-putting for the moment.

    Picks mostly based on:

    Shots per game
    Shots on target per game
    Goals per shot on target
    Location of shot
    Assist per game (intentional)

Goalkeeper decisions based on saves per game and pass selection (foot or hand)

'Iffy' players currently are Pereira and Barnes.

Can't go without kane myself. Talks of a 30m bid from Brighton for Webster. Does this mean Duffy or dunk getting dropped or sold?

Dunk supposedly first choice to replace Maguire if he leaves Leicester
