    Supposedly someone got that from a dealer today, takes all the value out of it alright. Granted I'd probably save 5k on fuel but to give it away again on interest is nonsensical.
    I'm on the fence as it is this will knock me off it.

    Ill go for Max if they give a decent trade in.

    You'll have to wait until 2021 so....

    ID.3 1st Max model variant production starts November 2020

    If these figures are true, I’ll be ordering a nicely specked mk8 on 0%.

    Totally agree! It takes the whole incentive out of driving electric.I wonder how many people will take a pass because of the interest rate.I know I will certainly reconsider if the rate is 4.9%

    Is there a chance there without grants or one of the grants it would make more sense then, if you look at the german 39k one it's €286pm...

    Is the lack of a heat pump an issue for anyone. Especially over colder months.

    Which is exactly what VW wants

    This is the highest interest I’ve seen for new VW cars. Max I ever paid was 1.9% and have 0.9% now.
    Calculation of interest on pcp for plus version with GMFV of 40% :eek:
    (€41395*0.7+449*36)-€41395=€3746

    (€41395*0.6+569*36)-€41395=€3926

    (€41435*0.4+814*36)-€41435=€4467

    Well for me the final deal/%rate was always going to be the deal breaker on going EV or not.
    At these prices/rates it doesn’t make financial sense to go electric just yet.

    I paid 4.9% on HP on a new Seat Ibiza in 2011, when VW Bank had just been set up. Down to 3.0% when I next changed in 2013 and 0% on a Leon FR in 2016. Even the re-finance of the remainder after the PCP term is only around 5.0%. Charging 4.9% on a relatively expensive car would do then out of a lot of business, I think.

    No PCP financing in Germany. It’s leasing only @ 3% ..... seems very high also.

    It's a big negative for me - I would have much preferred a heat pump, even at some additional cost.

    I think VW missed a trick here, big time. If the graphs shown on various youtube videos to date are to believed (e.g. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vc1ARV0s-Rw, at 6 mins 46 secs) then a heat pump provides a clear benefit of about 50km in range for ambient temperatures below 10 degrees - i.e. the majority of the year in Ireland.

    The marketing benefit of a heat pump in respect of winter range would be reflected in favourable youtube reviews for the 1st edition and would be well worth the expense to VW for the limited number of 1st models, in my opinion.

    Also, the heat pump refrigerant is R744 - i.e. CO2, which I think is a world first for vehicles and a major environmental step forward versus current refrigerants.

    Is VW really so obsessed with bean counting that it can't see the wood for the trees?

    With the 2 grants do they go direct to the dealer, I'd assume the vrt one is at source but is the SEAI one direct to you so VW finance wouldn't be accounting for it, that would give a 0% interest rate.

    According to Chris from battery life they €3750 from VW and 6k from government. Plus lower vat and no vrt so they’ll be fine with 2.98%

    They’re definitely in a better situation than us Irish.

    4.9 is madness, who's gonna fall for that?

    When the finance is coming from VW bank it's mostly immaterial. Most people will just look at the monthly number and decide whether it's ok or not.

    From a call with a dealer. (granted I just jotted this down and could be wrong)

    ID PLAN 3.9%
    ID PCP 4.9%

    and Hp ?

    but he did speculate that different models will be different.
    Perhaps you will get 1.9% or 2.9% on the MAX

    Who knows but the percentages put you in similar monthlys

    ID PLAN:
    Max 10% deposit
    End payment 50%

    PCP PLAN:
    Max 30% deposit
    End payment 30%

    ID PLAN:
    Max 10% deposit
    End payment 50%

    So €550pm for the plus version.

    The 30k one isn't out until next year. It's going to be well down on specification compared to the 1st, it'll also have a smaller battery.

    ID PLAN:

    So €550pm for the plus version.

    Possibly under €500 for 1st edition?

    Not bad

    Just out of the dealer. Confirmed 4.9% across the spec range.

    PCP PLAN:
    Max 30% deposit

    End payment of 30% seems a bit extreme, given that VW's other PCP offers seem to end with 40% implying less depreciation

    Every time I've worked it out, the regular PCP with max deposit comes out better for the Max trim

    Here's what I got:

    Max trim OTR price = €48,345

    ID PLAN:
    Max 10% deposit = €4834
    End payment 50% = €24,172.50
    APR = 3.9%
    Term = 36 months

    Monthly payment = €667.13

    PCP PLAN:
    Max 30% deposit = €14,503.50
    End payment 40% = €19,338
    APR = 4.9%
    Term = 36 months

    Monthly payment = €525.60

    If I plug in 30% residual value into the PCP calculator then the ID Plan is a lot closer

    PCP PLAN:
    Max 30% deposit = €14,503.50
    End payment 30% = €14,503.50
    APR = 4.9%
    Term = 36 months

    Monthly payment = €654.61

    I think the big selling point of the ID plan is no deposit, making it accessible to folks who don't have a valuable car to trade in

    Was that for ID Plan, or PCP, or HP or all the above?

    It's still 5k interest. I wonder are they reviewing it after feedback yesterday, a few cancellations would make them rethink it..when you can get 0% on a diesel this has to be the same or your being penalised for going electric.
