    Silly question time

When they say 'click & collect', do you get to specify which store you want to get it from?

Or would you need to go to Dublin city centre?

    You choose which store.

Thoughts with the Smyths web servers at this difficult time.
I hope it doesn't crash like mad seeing what happen with the series s and series x.I wish everyone the best of luck getting a perorder.

Yupp, you get to choose a specific store. You just can't call in to your local shop tomorrow and preorder from there.

I see twitterers asking for exact time. I think if they did that, the site is guaranteed to crash. I'd recommend pressing F5 from about 10am and checking on here as well in case they go earlier.

Loads of people complaining about the series X today that their order was just suddenly cancelled

Hope they get it together for tomorrow.... if wouldn’t be happy if I managed to bag one and then lose it, especially if went and traded in the PS4

But by that logic - Digital downloads should be free as there is no packaging or physical disk. Development takes Years with hundreds of people involved that all have to be paid.

My logic doesn’t suggest that at all. You are being deliberately disingenuous now.

There are disks, software, entertainment etc that have been produced for decades, serious resourcing in terms of development, testing, production etc that would dwarf that of a PS5 game and that retail at a fraction of the cost...

Games for the PS4/PS5 sell and will sell in their millions....

FIFA ‘17 sold 10.03 million copies approximately on the PS4 alone.

If the average retail price globally was in the region of 55 euros.

That’s hundreds of millions in revenue....550,000,000 euros from one game. The cost of design, development has to be a fraction.

Anyone who thinks they'll be able to walk into any store after the 19th and pick this up is talking rubbish. No chance.

It will be a few days before shipping, they won't take money tomorrow.

No charge when ordering, money comes off the card either day before or day of launch.

FYI, make sure yer Smyths account looks up to date, passwords reset if needed, make it as easy as possible tomorrow.

Fûck it, I might just as well sit it out until January... I can’t be arsed with everything else going on hunting here there and everywhere... probably pick up a new cheap PS4 game or two to keep me rumbling through the winter.

Looks like a few places will have more stock tomorrow - Game are sending out emails telling people there'll be stock late morning. I assume Amazon et al will follow suit then.

Have you them saved on your browser?

I did it chrome on mobile and with my card saved on chrome i was able to autofill and get the job done in no time

Smyths account up to date, card details saved on Chrome, now just to hope for the best tomorrow.

Last week on Smyths I managed to get a couple of orders through to the payment section but just missed out as they were gone before I got to the next stage of the process.

Best guess for "lunchtime" guys? 12pm?

I'll be on and refreshing from early morning in work in any case.

I have one on Amazon but never fully realised I got it till I checked my email for a confirmation...so unsure if I actually have it. Would Smyths deliver on release day? Might try my luck tomorrow and cancel other one

Have a digital edition ordered with GS

Might try get a disc version with Smyths tomorrow and then cancel GS order.

Was all in with the digital edition as it looks the best but I won't be paying €80 for any games.

Is the Smyth's pre order tomorrow definitely for launch day ?

How much should I expect to get on adverts for my PS4 Pro in November, after PS5 is released?

[edit] Is it possible to preorder online with Smyths and then pay with a one4all card later?

I have it preordered, but FWIW I've managed to buy every console of the last decade or so on day 1 or within a week of it without preorders, usually by walking into places like Tesco, PC World or Argos, rather than gaming specialist retailers.

I wouldn't be surprised if anyone who really wants one and missed the preorder rush will be able to find one well before Christmas when physical stock starts coming in if they look hard enough.

I got the PS4 about 2 weeks after release in Harvey Norman.

Maybe below €200, possibly €150 if everyone starts flogging them before release.

I’ll be flogging mine into adverts in the coming weeks!

Have a script created that will constantly refresh the page and purchase a PS5 when they go on sale.
