Maybe the people (not Limerick animal welfare) did contact the Gardaí but what do the authorities care about one dog? It was because it was shared to LAW that the guards had no choice but to respond.

Fair enough so and job well done. Thought it was the usual virtue signalling around these things that you see on FB.

    Climate change.

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

    Is he a denier?

I can actually see him getting elected to Europe, in the Presidential election his views very much resonated with people around my local area here in rural Co Limerick, I did vote for him in the Presidential election but on reflection I'm not sure that I'd vote for him again if he was in my area this time, I think his performance on the Late Late Show (was he pissed?) put me off him

Depends on how many votes he can get.

I see he's 4/7 with Paddy Power to win a seat, worth a tenner I reckon

Casey hopes to take Ming the Merciless seat in europe.Hope he does from that other waste of space. It is going to make it more interesting now that he has thrown his hat in the ring.Going to be interesting to see how he is treated in the media this time.

The man who caused the Jewish Representative council of Ireland to make a complaint to the ombudsman about his anti Semitic remarks and said Travelers should be put in an education camp in the pheonix park wants to represent ALL the people of Ireland in a multicultural multi national parliment like the EU.

The man uses fascist rhetoric. Nothing matters to him but money and his own self service. He is dishonest and backward.

My Dad said when he was on RTE debating 'I would SPIT on him'.

In 2014 FPVs were as follows and covers about 90% of them.
    FG about 20%
    FF about 18%
    Ming 19%
    Carthy about 18%
    Harkin 10.6%
    Labour about 5%

It's very hard to see where he can position himself for any great number of FPVs, especially as the two biggest parties have seen their level of support increase quite a bit since then.

Hmm, that price ignores the likelihood of a higher FF vote. They were a few hundred votes off Harkin in 2014 and with good vote management they should get a seat.

The European Parliament is a gravy train retirement home for useless politicians.
Would prefer if Casey ran for the Dail.

    Obviously a case for Irexit

4/7! Paddy Power will be shaking in his boots when he sees you arrive on with your tenner

Yes but he'll get votes from a certain cohort of FF and FG voters as well, I would think it's Ming he'll oust if anyone (the kind of anti-establishment rural Ireland vote)

He'll get that easily from traveller haters. It's a much bigger percentage of people than that who don't like me them.
I'm not a big follower of Irish politics and I've never heard of Gemma O'Doherty.

So 300'000 people who voted for Casey in the presidential election are "haters " that's a pretty broad brush you are using there. Would you care to explain what would turn 300'000 ordinary decent people into "haters"?? . Would have to be something extremely bad in my opinion......but enlighten us

Yes, they have been the victims or are close to somebody who is a victim of traveller crime.

I'm pretty sure that they do not consider them selves as haters......hate is a very strong word to use to describe people with. Victim's might be a better description?
And for sure, there are much more than 300'000 out there... Higgins played a clever game in the Presidential race.... first he would not confirm if he would run or not... so all the time the clock was ticking. Then he declared that he would run for a 2nd term... and the race began. So until Casey made his traveller speech, Higgins was a dead cert. Then from the very back of the field Caesy gallops into 2nd place. Had the race lasted a bit longer... what's the betting that he would get more than 300'000 vote's? It's immaterial now of course, and we will never know for sure... none the less, it's an interesting question.

Yes that's exactly why we voted for him in the Presidential election and why our family and neighbours voted for him also, living in rural Ireland what he was saying resonated with us

I'm not a Casey-hater or anything, I think his comments definitely resonated with a huge number of people and the embarrassing part of the whole thing was the media meltdown over it.

However, I think if the campaign had gone on, it would just have worked against him. While he has that common touch, common sense appeal to some people, he is also painfully inarticulate. The fact that his comments were right at the end of the campaign probably helped him as he gained 22% based on a single comment, pretty much.

Being painfully inarticulate is definitely his downfall, a candidate anyway more articulate than him would piss it home

When Casey first shot to prominence, the "naysayer's" and anti- Caseyites were out in force....making mainly the same point's....bad speaker, playing on peoples fear's etc. Plenty of more articulate candidate's out there... sure there are, and you know what? People are sick to death of "Articulate Speaker's" They could not care less about articulate speakers... they have been listening to articulate politicians for years... and you know what? They have been lied to and misled so many time's ... so much that they just don't give a damn anymore about "Articulate Speakers" ., Casey was like breath of fresh air. The more Casey is bad mouthed, the more people will say " He must be doing something right" or " he could not be much worse , so I will give him a vote, he says it like it is" And you don't have to be very articulate to "say it like it is"
Anyone running for the election's now, would want to take Caseys viewpoint seriously....the traveller issue he raised won't just go away.

What has he done about any of the stuff he says he cares about?
Nothing. He hasn't bothered his back side getting involved at the grassroots. He wants the top job straight away.

In love with himself if you ask me. A fairly common complaint in self made men and women.
