Trump unstoppable. Higgins safety can't keep him out

  • Registered Users Posts: 16,073 ✭✭✭✭sligeach

    14-7 Trump at the interval.

  • Registered Users Posts: 18,258 ✭✭✭✭gormdubhgorm

Higgins needs a comeback like Hendry back in 1992.
Trump is motoring 14-7 this could be over shortly.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

Took trump a few minutes to get his head into it. Back into yesterdays form now. Not looking good for John at all. Commentators saying he was in the same position last year and got close but trump is playing too well for similar to happen this year. Cracking final and standard very high. Great viewing

I missed Higgins potential maximum break earlier. I heard the groans from the audience & I had the feeling that I missed something that was going to be really big. Ah well. I never see a 147 happening on live TV because when I see it being played out in live play; there is some player there that bottles their plan up in front of the fans & it's gutting to see it not happen. I think I had seen a potential 147 on live TV would have been on the masters earlier this season. Still hard luck to Higgins though for missing out on the maximum break earlier. If he gets another chance to do another one in this session or in the evening session tonight it will be great to see it live.

Trump now is at 14-7 to Higgins at the mid-session interval. 4 frames left for Trump to become the World Champ in Snooker.

    I’ll never forget that..

    14-8 down...10 in a row...wtf, Jimmy?

Terry Griffiths is retiring from punditry. I hope he has a great life of coaching from home. He will be missed from all of the venues shown on the BBC.

What a lovely fella Terry is

Trump thinks he is playing an exhibition now. Waltzing around the table.

Higgins hasn't played that badly, frightening stuff Trump.

The WC final and Trump’s playing like it’s an exhibition. Seems to be relishing the occasion rather than feeling any pressure.

3 frames for Trump left now to win the big one.

He wasn’t a pundit. He's semi-retiring from coaching. He's not travelling anymore. If the players want coaching anymore, they've to come to him. So he won't be at the Crucible anymore.

A pleasure to watch Trump playing like this

    15-7. Another century for Trump.

I’ve a feeling there won’t be any snooker this evening :(

Even getting to an evening session would be an acheivement in itself from here.

If there is, it'll likely be a frame or 2. The evening patrons will feel hard done by.

Higgins has a 91% pot success. And he's getting annihilated.

  • Registered Users Posts: 16,073 ✭✭✭✭sligeach

That’s John's first pot after well over 300 unanswered points from Trump. I thought we might get to see a new record, which is Anthony Hamilton, somewhere around the 450 point mark.

I'd say it's the safety battle that's costing him dearly. Trump is potting everything so any safety from Higgins that isn't perfect is pounced on by Trump

  • Registered Users Posts: 16,073 ✭✭✭✭sligeach

That drifted. Wasn't a bad shot from Trump. It was in, until right at the end.

    Higgins making a comeback?

I remember I was in Wales before figured out, and it is to do with the way they spell snooker in Welsh.

When I saw a sign 'snwcer' first think I thought of was 'Terry Griffiths'

Hes 7 frames behind and losing in this frame also. Doesn't seem like a comeback.
