I wonder will we see Connor McGregor in the wwe since he's retired from the UFC

"Retired", 3rd time he's pulled this stunt, he'll be back when the money's right for him.

As for him in the WWE, with his motormouth style? Vince and Kevin Dunn would be sweating bullets.

I don’t like McGregor, but both sides have already admitted that they’ve offered him a blank cheque essentially. For better or worse with the business he’d bring they’d adjust to fit him in.

If he does sign i can nearly picture his first match would be a WM against HHH

I've no idea what mcgregor is like in real life but surely he's not as annoying as Ronda rousey turned out to be. Her comments about it being fake really made me not like her. Call it predetermined all you want but don't call it fake.

It was a very ungrateful comment to say after an industry made you a couple of million of dollars.
She also called the fans ' ungrateful f**ks '

Reminds me of what certain actors say - like Robert Beltran from Star Trek Voyager (that's the character Chakotay) the producers and writers say he was constantly moaning while making the show and since the show ended he has been quite vocal about his gripes. But he took the paycheck every week.

So 21 years ago today the huge angle involving the identity of the higher power was revealed. It was vince McMahon btw which lead to Jim Ross having one of his most underrated calls on WWE TV when he summed up the mood of the fan base when it happened, along with how some of us felt, which was confusion.

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,381 ✭✭✭Riddle101

If McMahon hadn't been revealed as the Higher Power then who would have been the right choice? I hear Christopher Daniels was supposed to play the Higher Power but that idea was obviously rejected. How would Daniels have done as the Higher Power though I wonder? I can't imagine him being pushed over the likes of The Undertaker as a Main Eventer so he probably would have been used purely as a figurehead and nothing else.

Other than that I can't think of anyone else who might have been able to play the role. They would probably have to use a wrestler previously unknown to the fans as none of the established wrestlers could have played the role. Maybe if Jake Roberts was healthy enough he might have been able to play the role but he had his problems at the time so not someone WWE could rely on.

Before his time but Hornswoggle, surely since he always seemed to be the reveal like with the anonymous GM and Vince's son

Ultimate Warrior or Randy Savage would of been decent in the role

Vinces reveal will always be one of the great all time wwe moments

I always found it stupid that Vince used the line "Its me Austin, it was me all along" When he had already revealed himself to Austin the week before at the end of Raw

Well she’s working and setting up a potential comeback if/when it suits her. Rousey is loaded and seems to love her life, I doubt she really cares about whether wrestling fans like her or not. And tbh it’s not as if they did, she was generally well liked and appreciated until she started feuding with Becky and heeled it up a bit, which is when she got a bit of blowback because she was being a heel.

Plus...she’s not wrong in what she says either. Wrestling fans ARE weird in how they consume their sport. There’s elements of “I only criticise this because I love it so much” in areas of nerd culture, but not to the degree wrestling fans do.

There shouldn't have been a Higher Power storyline. The Undertaker is a Higher Power. He's 6' 10" and impervious to pain. He shouldn't take orders from anyone, especially from a man whose ankle he broke 9 months previously. Vince was running scared of the Undertaker during the Summer/ Autumn of 1998 and then suddenly we're expected to believe he's now subservient to him.

I would have dropped the whole Corporate Ministry merger. They're ideologically incompatible. One is a band of mercenaries hired by the owner of a corporation to keep the title away from a redneck and the other is a pseudo-Satanic cult that wanted to take over that corporation.

Make about as much sense as the Church of Scientology merging with a corporation to defeat a common enemy. Cults, by nature, are insular. They don't merge with anything and merging your company with a cult doesn't sound like a good idea.

Could be worse, could have merged the company with Time Warner, where you relinquish so much of your control, you're powerless to prevent a merger with AOL that ultimately forces you out of your own company.

Today is the 18th anniversary of Austin taking his ball and going the **** home for months.

2 years ago yesterday, Kenny Omega & Kazuchika Okada delivered another classic match in their rivalry @ NJPW's Dominion show, for the IWGP Heavyweight Championship in a 2/3 falls match. With Kenny winning his first and only IWGP Heavyweight Championship, and ending Okada's historic 720 day reign.

Since when do belts have fúcking velcro?!

I read that Drew's belt is the same? It looks so cheap.

  • Registered Users Posts: 28,831 ✭✭✭✭CastorTroy

Since April 2019 at least going by what I read. Though I didn't notice. Would think official photos like that would have the buttons

  • Registered Users Posts: 28,831 ✭✭✭✭CastorTroy

Of course on NXT I noticed the velcro now. Thanks for that.

On another note, when can we see an intergender, Interbrand match between the titans that are Kacy Catanzaro and Mako Stunt?

Seen Randy has said that AJ is a flat-earther. I remember Bryan saying it on Talking Smack but thought it was a joke at AJ's expense but Randy says it's not a rib.

    What an idiot.

I'm sure he's said he fought all around the world and not across it

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,724 ✭✭✭SureYWouldntYa

There's probably a clip of him saying he's fought all around the globe or similar, I'm sure someone on r/sq will find it yet

Ecw one night stand happened 15 years ago today at the Hammerstein ballroom in New York City. I remember watching it live with my brother which didn't happen that often around this time.

Those ppvs were very good. WWE kind've ruined it though by bringing back ECW as a brand. Somethings are best left in the past.

AJ has denied it before. Flat earthers don't usually have the wherewithal to at least pretend not to be stupid.

    It's just a rib.

I think it would of worked much better if the original plan went thru and they kept it an online show. The Sci-fi really fecked it up in my opinion and brought a cartoon element to it and was everything ECW wasnt

I always think it would of been awesome and really set the tone when Eugene came out at ONS 2 instead of been canes by Sandman he did almost a Shane Douglas and denouncing his WWE career up to that point. Just shoot hard on the company and carrying on as Nick Dinsmore.
