I've enjoyed both AJ matches, the Logan match and Summerslam was all about Romans return to be fair. Don't feel let down at all by the run personally

Where has Nakamura gone he hasn’t been on WWE tv in months.

Unpopular opinion but I've always thought Cody's ceiling was an upper midcarder and my opinion hasn't changed on that.

There is no doubting the hype has died for Cody.

There is a touch of the Lex Luger 94 situation. It all seems to add up up but it feels like there could be someone better.

Poster for my next show came out sick. Had our most recent one over the weekend and it was wild. It's just the best fun putting these on and we've assembled a great crew of wrestlers and people to help navigate this crazy business!

Is this match going to be available to stream anywhere? Could be a lot of fun!

Cody will end up replacing HHH and running WWE from a corporate standpoint within a decade.

Lucha Underground debuted 10 years ago today.

Some of the best wrestling of the last decade happened here.

I'd love to see wrestling from that venue again.

Wrestling fans like to complain about AEW having to many titles which is probably very true. WWE added two more over the weekend how many titles do they have now have across Raw, Smackdown, NXT & Saudi.

    Regards,

    P.

Surely you can see how disingenuous a point this is. Even still, let's break it down.

Those titles, along with whatever title Braun won years ago in Saudi are basically non-canon. Rarely mentioned again, defended or factor into storylines. It would be like complaning about the the Owen Hart titles, or even the Texas Chainsaw Massacre title in AEW, which people really don't. So no point in bringing those Saudi titles up unless you want to include those AEW ones.

With the split rosters in WWE, it stops the brands from being flooded with belts. Each main roster brand has a Men's and Women's champion, a midcard title for men, tag titles for each brand in the case of the men, or one that bounces between both for the women. NXT has the most, with men's and women's world championships, midcard for men and women, tag titles for men and you could probably argue for the heritage cup too. That being said, NXT titles don't often intersect with the main roster. If you wanted to be really pedantic, maybe you could include the Speed Championships but those are confined to Speed and have never been defended on TV so it would be a stretch. So realistically outside of NXT, you have 4 titles per brand with a women's tag championship that moves between all the brands. For split rosters, that really isn't that much.

AEW has 8 'main' titles without a split roster. Men and Women's World Championships. Women's midcard (TBS), tag titles, trios titles and 3 MID-CARD MEN'S TITLES! (TNT, international, continental). With their rosters being combined then it appears even more dizzying and they often step on each other's toes. Trios/Tags feel redundant, especially as half of the trios champs have also been tag champions. The amount of mid card titles makes no real sense. Two makes sense for WWE as they are kept on their two separate brands. For AEW they have 3 mid-card and they're all in play at once. To add to that, AEW has ROH titles, that do overlap with the main show (although less so than initially and often more at PPVs). Let's be fair and not count those, the same way NXT isn't counted.

So if you actually wanted to have this debate. Main rosters for both stands at 8 for AEW and 9 for WWE (although one is revolving) but WWE have their titles spread apart via brand split so the amount of titles seems less than it is and AEW have most of there's feature across all their shows with no roster split (although tbf some titles feature more on one show than another, Trios is often a Collision title). On PPV they all get thrown in for AEW though, which isn't usually the case with WWE outside of Mania.

Why are we going off Wikipedia instead of WWE and AEW's website which acknowledges which ones are officially recognised and not? Is it just so you can count the Saudi titles?

Watching some of the Great Muta matches from 89/90 in WCW man he was so far ahead of time such a groundbreaking wrestler.

Well WWE have just added another title with a women’s US Title.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,420 ✭✭✭ThePott

Which fans have been asking for. Women's mid-card titles are long overdue. There's some logic to having them. Having a championship title, mid-card title, tag titles for men and women makes sense, especially if they're stuck to a single roster.

AEW having 3 mid-card titles when they are all on the one roster makes no sense imo.

Them having a TBS title and a women's championship makes sense and it makes sense for WWE to have a mid-card and championship title too. I think your mind (and a few others) is already made up about these things though.

AEW adding women's tag titles would not be a bad idea though.

There are too many wrestlers. Running an indie now we get 30-40 DMs a day looking for a shot on a show lol. It's mind blowing when they come from known names though as we have some buzz going, a certain Knockouts champ hit us up for our next show and I can't wait!

It may be an unpopular opinion but I’ve been looking at older stuff. Owen Hart did/does nothing for me. He was a serious talent for sure but for me he always just felt like a much lesser Bret Hart.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,097 ✭✭✭✭eh i dunno

He was a good wrestler but didn't have the charisma of the hitman.

With Trump and MAGA wanting to make America for Americans only and promising to rid the country of immigrants legal and illegal alike I wonder where wrestlers on work visas fit in there.

The Mildred Burke movie with lots of wrestlers as co-stars is starting to screen at festivals. Not sure it says much about the quality of the film that it's not making the major film festivals and it has played the Buffalo Film Festival and the Fort Lauderdale one. Only review I've found is this one. There's some on Letterboxd but grain of salt.

Seems to be solid enough if not amazing. No mention of Toni Storm but they speak positively of Kamille's role.

Saw Zach Bryan is playing here next year

For some reason always imagine that been the name for Bryan Danielson/Daniel Bryan in TNA 😆

Not sure if it's extreme coincidence but anyone who feuded with Karrion Kross all turned heel. Even the New Day.

I like the idea of it but they need to push Kross onto the next level after this Wyatts feud. I'd like to see him in the IC Picture after this.
