I don't think us shooters are the only people who have a problem with green party policies.

Only having two members in the Dáil says a lot about their popularity.

They can go for a nice long ride on their bicycles if they think they can take our firearms from us.

No, none. Just her statement and my reply.
Same for the Green Party tweet on the subject.
    All very quiet.

I'd say keep trying because if they really want to make any policy changes they should welcome engagement with gun owners.
Like I said I'm not that bothered to get in touch.

Can't stand them myself, their policies are all about virtue signalling rather then dealing with real problems - Eamon Ryan in particular brings me out in a rash when he pollutes my tv screen:(

Funny that. The Green party in the USA,UK,Germany,Austrailia,NZ,France ,Belguim,SouthAfrica and anywhere else in the Western world DO..Why shouldnt Ireland be any different?Because they are a minority party of fanatics that know they cant boil the Irish frog straight away. But like a plauge of weeds they will infest the political spectrum and gradually choke the system with their costly cockamaine ideas.Anyone want to see the chaos the Water melons create in politics,I suggest a holiday to Brighton/Hove in the UK.Youd swear you were in Mogadishu not the UK.

Nah the water melons are so arrogant going by their performances globally on this issue ,its pointless to engage with this ex surf bunny whose only claim to fame is she was ships ballast on the Rainbow Warrior.

Yeah ban them all, the legal ones, and when you are done and the firearm crime rate is the same then what?

    Oh and it's moot point.

the fire arm crime rate is mostly illegal weapons

Want to stop drink driving?Ban sober and safe drivers from driving or owning certain types of cars! Its the same logic used in gun control .

If you want to argue against her point of view please do so based on the issue not common abuse.

How long have you worked for her out of interest?

Lots of people worldwide applauding the NZ response to this shooting by banning the weapons used in that shooting.

Ireland has never allowed those guns here, didn't take us a mass shooting to ban them.

It's been done we are ahead of the curve for once.

Ahem...Cough...You CAN get centre fire semi-auto modern sporting rifles here. They are not banned at all, just restricted.:)

Grand total handed in sofar in NZ.31 and the NZ police computer has crashed already...

But if anyone asks they're banned and always have been. ;-)

that Grace O'Sullivan is a decent honourable person. If Ireland had more like her we would be better off.

Nothing honourable in the opportunistic use of a tragic event on the other side of the world in a foreign jurisdiction to highlight a problem that isn’t pervasive in Ireland. Nothing more than an attention grabbing, profile raising stunt. Greens are nothing more than idealistic noise boxes, making the masses suffer to placate a few.

Tackling Ireland’s mental health shortcomings would be more beneficial to the population at large than targeting and vilifying law abiding firearms owners.

Also nothing honourable in defending the indefensible.

The usual rubbish from the green party. Once they have taken your guns they'll try take your diesel jeep ...

The Greens were jointly responsible for changing the road tax system that favoured diesels over petrol, resulting in diesel motor sales to skyrocket and petrols to slump.

Reading the discussion here I went and read the article in question. If she was represented fairly by the journalist who wrote it she's nothing but a cynical uninformed bandwagon jumper.

By the way, the sinking of the Rainbow Warrior was not an act of terrorism in the strict sense of the word. It was a French covert operation aimed at getting rid of a flea in the pelt around their nuclear arms test site in the Pacific that flaunted just about every aspect of international law and New Zealand criminal law. It resulted in the killing of a crew member and the sinking of a ship.

And with their stupid carbon tax, they pushed the tax price range out of the reach of low-income families, who could buy a perfectly good, albeit uneconomical[??] large car,for very handy money, but couldn't afford the highway robbery...er ..road tax,on keeping it on the road.I was one of them and because of their carbon tax BS,I lost one of the best 4WDs I ever had here to a ridiculously high tax band.I'l NEVER forgive that bunch of watermelons for that, as well as their non-stop meddling and messing about in Germany with hunting and fishing since the 1970s.:mad::mad:

Trust the French to bugger it up!!! They just ended up polluting Auckland harbour Now it would have more benefical to them and mankind in general if those mines had gone off when they were a few days out at sea.No fuss, ships do still disappear off the face of the ocean, and it would have been one of those mysteries of the sea .

The Green party polled 58,000 votes country wide in the last election for 40 candidates.
I don't think they can expect to get much support in their efforts to curtail a sport enjoyed by at least 160,000 .

A noisy effort to raise their profile, as they stand ankle deep in the soft earth covering the victims of a lunatic.

Could there possibly be an election of some sort coming up?

Still shows there are 58K worth of loopers out there who would vote for them. And how many kids who have been brainwashed with global warming and "Socialism is cool" nonsense are coming up to legal voting age this year?? I fear like weeds,if untreaed ,they will steadily grow a foothold.

Correct me if I am wrong but its not so long ago there was an outcry from a politican in Watrerford about the proliferation of Hand guns in this country and we all know how that ended up.
Maybe she should read up on the regulations regarding firearms in this country which are some of the most restrictive in the world already.

Mr K. from some sand pit you can fly to from Dublin and Mr H. who's in hiding somewhere let it be known that they have absolutely no problem procuring any amount of handguns for use by their minions.....
