Only having two members in the Dáil says a lot about their popularity.

I'd say keep trying because if they really want to make any policy changes they should welcome engagement with gun owners.

Lots of people worldwide applauding the NZ response to this shooting by banning the weapons used in that shooting.

Ireland has never allowed those guns here, didn't take us a mass shooting to ban them.

It's been done we are ahead of the curve for once.

Reading the discussion here I went and read the article in question. If she was represented fairly by the journalist who wrote it she's nothing but a cynical uninformed bandwagon jumper.

By the way, the sinking of the Rainbow Warrior was not an act of terrorism in the strict sense of the word. It was a French covert operation aimed at getting rid of a flea in the pelt around their nuclear arms test site in the Pacific that flaunted just about every aspect of international law and New Zealand criminal law. Trust the French to bugger it up!!! They just ended up polluting Auckland harbour Now it would have more benefical to them and mankind in general if those mines had gone off when they were a few days out at sea.No fuss,ships do still disappear off the face of the ocean,and it would have been one of those mysteries of the sea .:cool:

I don't think they can expect to get much support in their efforts to curtail a sport enjoyed by at least 160,000 .

Correct me if I am wrong but its not so long ago there was an outcry from a politican in Watrerford about the proliferation of Hand guns in this country and we all know how that ended up.
Maybe she should read up on the regulations regarding firearms in this country which are some of the most restrictive in the world already.
