What's the best alternative to biker. ie for Irish bikers?

    Probably here.

Biker.ie is/was great for seeing the upcoming events and ride outs, and it's grand if you avoid the General Chat.

I do miss my boobies avatar tho lol. The rest not so much.

No idea, best of luck with the search though. :-P

I joke but now that you mention it, is anyone a member on any other forums?

That's if they even grant you access.

Ah KM.. longtime no hear.. I remember you well from IBF :)

I was on there for a long time, well over 1000 posts. Was great at the beginning but yes the childlessness and power struggles are pretty pathetic. Bikers I have found are usually a very sound bunch who are friendly and helpful - but some not so much over there. They had a few regular spins going but they were fast and I was brand new so I organised a 'Rookie Run' for people newer and not interested in averaging 100mph. Started off with 4 people the first week, then 6 then 12 - pretty fast it was 30 and 40 bikes and people were leaving the other spins to come with us. They hated me for it and it just got petty. When they found out I was a mod here I got banned. Lol. Fun times.

Organise one here and I'll come along.. too old for riding like Rossi on Sunday spins these days plus most people I used to spin with have moved on / away..

that would be the bright side of the dark side. Win-Win.

Tbh, FB has taken over what Forum's used to do for most people.

    Ode To The Motorist

“And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, generates funds to the exchequer. You don't want to acknowledge that as truth because, deep down in places you don't talk about at the Green Party, you want me on that road, you need me on that road. We use words like freedom, enjoyment, sport and community. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent instilling those values in our families and loved ones. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”

Joined years ago and for last few months a regular poster, obviously not regular enough, no great loss as you say as you can still see the info just can’t ask a question.

Always thought it was weird how their Cork meet was always top secret with no mention of exact details.

The Viaduct group? Vintage Jap MCC

Not a fan of Biker.ie but they were a sound bunch.
No details? The Viaduct Bar first Sunday of every month for breakfast, can't be that hard to understand?!

I did organise a meetup a few years ago, was really good pity we didn't do more. A group of other lads do regular spins but I belvie the chat is mostly on whatsapp these days more so than the forum.

Unfortunately I no longer live in Ireland so tricky to do any more - but someone should!

Will have my bike to running condition soon and wouldn't mind a spin on some Sundays.

You can organise one on the Sunday Spin thread. It's there for anyone to sort a spin, if I'm ever out on the weekend I always share it there. Now a days, my spins are limited to going around a roundabout twice on the way to work but there used to be a lot of meet ups in the past and it would be good to see people organising them again.

It's dying a slow death. It has 3 posts/comments today. Stuff in general chat front page that hasn't had a new comment in a week. It's actually dead.

I was a member a few years back and got some wonderful help and advice... One chap gave me a footpeg for my Super Four for free, as I was stuck.

But all the LGBT / LOL teh gayz / Viagra nonsense wore me down quick and I didn't want anything more to do with it as a community. They closed my account for inactivity and I'm absolutely fine with it. No loss.

Found out over the weekend just how helpful it used to be resource wise, found out over the weekend there were lads on FB groups who didn't know who MAG were or what they did etc.

While it may have fallen it used to be a great source for info/help.

Some decent lads on there once upon a time but I rarely post on it now.

Still some sound lads on there, but it's the knobheads that rule the roost....
