Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Get over great work great play

That's a bloody brilliant try. Hendedson ripping to ball from Bamba. Sexton and Ringrose changing the point of attack and the runners getting over the gain line.

    Great few possessions from Conan.

Henderson’s rip on bamba was class.

    Could get BP by HT.

    French heads dropping

When did anyone last see a more one way dominant performance by any side in this competition???

You can see from that Besty swivel pass that the confidence is creeping back in.

Fairly new to Rugby, what happens in the 2nd half?

Is it France's turn to attack and Ireland defend?

Great turnover from Henderson in the middle of all that who is having a super game, Ryan is showing his best, Sexton is moving up the gears, Ringrose looks dangerous. This is a good Irish performance

Certainly are a lot better when Sexton & Murray have form

England at the Aviva in week 1.

The difference in our intensity and accuracy is a welcome relief tbh. This is much more like 2018 performances.

Hit from inside the ruck. Completely illegal and he was 100% right to be aggrieved.

You're overegging his passing and reactions completely, Murray is playing well

I can think of three potential try scoring opportunities that he butchered because of his passing and decision making.

In order, pass to Ringrose which hit the floor, pass to Larmour which was both the wrong decision and too far in front of him so he had to juggle with it (when people were saying Larmour should have passed) and another one to Aki.

His passing has been better since Sexton’s try though, but make no mistake there was plenty of reasons to be concerned before that.

I find it weird that Ireland get to play Italy twice in a row. They really are terrible. Hopefully France can play better next week.

Territory and possession stats must be insane.

France can't deal with the line speed at all.

NZ get to play Australia twice in a row usually. Same thing

Great hit by Johnny and Aki at the end to force the turnover

Murray is definitely playing better and its great to see. And I agree about him being in the right. But in fairness he has had a few howlers earlier in the game and its fair to point them out. When your scrumhalf is passing badly its stunningly obvious, moreso than other positions.

I am desperate for Murray to regain his old imperious form and I am progressively more and more encouraged by what I see here.

CJ stander with 19 carries and second most meters made..

Easily our starting 8 and the best in this country by a margin!

  • Registered Users Posts: 589 ✭✭✭baas baa

This is the worst French performance Ireland have faced in recent memory. Usually we catch them on a good day.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 24,457 ✭✭✭✭lawred2

Henderson almost central to everything good Ireland did in that half

    And Sexton

Henderson makes a big difference to Ireland, Ryan too. We look far more physical in the 2nd row today than all tournament. Conan has looked very good since coming on, good time for him to show what he's capable of. Very positive 1st half. Big difference is the forwards are giving us a very good platform and are getting over the gain line.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,221 ✭✭✭crisco10

This could be 40 nil. France have been in the Ireland half off kick offs and that's it.

And don't think they got past 5 phases (maybe they did at end)

France time in opponents 22 = 05 seconds

I'm disappointed for VdF in taking an injury, but Conan has been excellent as his replacement.

I've been blown away by our front 5. This is the kind of performance they were putting in last season and against NZ. The Hendo/Ryan combo has been sensational. They're smashing everything.

Delighted for Conan. Think he's underrated by some but I think he's a great player.
    Henderson's strength is ridiculous.

Wonderful stuff from Ireland. How France haven't got or had a man in the bin I know not.
