Returning internationals significantly strengthen our choices for Edinburgh

    I'd go with

Wycherley, Scannell, Ryan, Kleyn, Holland, JO'D, JO'S, Coombes, Casey, JJ, Sweetnam, DDA, Farrell, Conway, Daly

Cronin, KO'B, Salanoa, F. Wycherley, Cloete, McCarthy, Healy, Scannell

Noticed that Munster added POM to the list of players returned from Ireland camp...

I imagine it's just for training.
Or are they gonna try pull a fast one and say, well you arnt counting the Edinburgh game for the ban so we are gonna play him

Well according to the 6N disciplinary committee the Pro14 isn't a meaningful competition........

It will only be training though.

As others have mentioned KOB to start with Marshall off the bench. Haley seems to be undroppable so he will start at 15 with Sweetnam to replace RScannell on the bench (when we have a specialist 10 on bench no need for scannell).

    I'd like to see:
    Cronin, KOB, Ryan, Kleyn, Wycherley, JOD, Cloete, Coombes;
Casey, Healy, Conway, DDA, Farrell, Daly, Haley

Marshall, Wycherley, Salanoa, Ahern, JOS, McCarthy, JJH, Sweetnam

Injured: Knox*, Snyman, Hodnett, Cronin, Carbery, Goggin, Gallagher, Coombes, Nash*
Ireland: Kilcoyne, Beirne, Stander, POM, Murray, Earls

Going by the update, it sounds like Knox and Nash won't be available in time.

I can guarantee that you won't see that.

As there's a few well know players in there I'll edit the post later and add the names but leave them for the moment so people can try guess for themselves who's who.

    Edit to add the team
BR Sean Conneely RIP, Richard Moloney, Rob Sheehan, John Ahern, David Dineen, Geoff Moylan, Tom O'Connor, Philip Danaher, Fr. Frank Duhig.
Seated Paul Kilbridge, Liam Looney, Pat Lloyd, Paul Culhane, Pat Murray, Paul Craughan, Tom Leahy.
    FR Willie Quinlan, Declan Hannan.

    I wouldn't think so, no!

I'm guessing JJ gets the start at 10 and Rory Scannell will be in the 23.

Danaher hasn't changed a bit, P Murray not a lot, is that Nolly Collopy 2nd to the right of Danaher?

Kevin O'Byrne faced the press today.
Usually an indicator that a player will start.

Conor Murray trained with Munster today.

I've heard JJ has signed a contract extension, no idea if its 1 or 2 years

That was quoted somewhere about two weeks ago...a throwaway line in an article I think. Very frustrating how slowly contract news is coming out this year.

Think Bernard Jackman mentioned it on the 42.ie podcast last Thursday or the Thursday before.

Well seeing as they couldn't even begin to talk about contracts until January, it's no surprise that there's very little news about. Munster will announce 4 or 5 players at a time as they normally do. In recent seasons they've announced renewals as late as April.

Apparently Earls has signed a one year contract, with Stander and O'Mahony in line for 2 year contracts

Exactly what was expected, despite what a small minority may have thought
Great to see the IRFU giving mainstays of the team CJ & POM 2 year deals

Niall and Rory Scannell, Jack O’Donoghue, Craig Casey, Shane Daly and Calvin Nash have all signed two-year extensions while Liam Coombes and Alex McHenry have put pen to paper on one-year deals. https://www.munsterrugby.ie/2021/02/18/player-contract-extensions-confirmed/

    Has JJ been confirmed previously?

Strange he's not on this list

Munster will make a few announcements like this. They don't do it all in one go like Leinster do.

Would hate to see Joey come back from Injury and then go to Leinster when his contract finishes in 2022. Mike Haley may look elsewhere aswell since the move didnt lead to him breaking into the Irish set up.

Surprised to see the scannells and Nash getting 2 year deals . Surely all must have taken large cuts

Why? They're all important squad players and Niall Scannell went to the world cup just over a year ago, so there's still a decent player in there. I can't imagine they were on huge contracts either, so I doubt they needed to take large pay cuts.
