    Just kill it off already.
What's really left to save at this point? Grassroots will still operate. If there was some mechanism devised to keep the League of Ireland operating, I'd go up and nail the shutters on Abbotstown myself. Good riddance.

They dont even own Abbotstown....board, council and so on have destroyed Irish football, not just JD. Everyone who turned a blind eye or enjoyed the expenses and so on....all are at fault and should be held responsible.

Time to setup a new FAI, clear out councils and boards...some of these people have been in their cushy numbers for 20-30 years.

They're hanging on in there waiting for a bail out. They announce massive losses today and retract the makey up figures they'd been pendling. Then have the cheek to stop questions from the floor by hiding behind solicitors and whinge about the "massive scrutiny" they're under.

They're seriously misjudging the mood of Irish football fans and the general public. Some will miss the p1ss ups in Gibraltar and singing to nuns.
The majority will bear missing out on a qualifying campaign or two if it means rooting out these utter cowboys.

There need to be an audit of every local FA in the country and proper term limits put in place. JD didn't appear out of thin air. He came through a structure that allowed him prosper.

    That's a tweet about their so-called apology.
I wonder what, if anything, did the actual apology say?

Nothing more than a further attempt to hold onto power of a sinking ship. Easiest thing to do after being challanged to do it today at the AGM....still havent released the business plan they went to the government with and are still hiding behind lawyers

It's a nothing apology ,just like they have done **** all to actually sort the mess out, other than ask for millions from the government.

Need a clear out from top to bottom.

Pretty weak from Ross, he shouldn’t be talking about avoiding liquidation, it’s playing his hand a bit.

Yeah I’d say they’re rubbing their hands after that. Only make them dig in more now that they know he’s going to back down and save them.

    "Lets move forward..."

They're brazen cúnts, I'll give them that.

Government is always gonna bail them out, the FAI know this. Ross can try and pay hard ball but at the end of the day the government will give them the 50m they need for the mortgage and to stay afloat. Only thing to sort out is whether this happens before or after the next GE.

Good to see they are still working on the transparency part. :pac:

Not sure they’ll give them 50 million or anything like it, they might do some guaranteeing for them based on getting certain things done but I doubt they will cut them a cheque.

They will use the deperate need for money as a weapon to rid the FAI of its rotten core if they are clever. They will let it go as far as they need, to ensure they have the right independant board members etc. and transparancy in place.

so all that happened with the FAI was only carried out by John Delaney, more then one person needs their collar felt

No one has ever asked to see Conway and other board members expenses. Nor has anyone asked what exactly their role were within the FAI...

    Looking in from outside....
    - board didnt know what was going on, however members approved contracts, pensions etc. for JD
    - no questions are allowed as lawyers have said so
    - they need €18 million from the tax payer.....dont expect any info first
    - JD paid off at the payment rate of CEO although he was in a new position
    - auditors claim they were misled, cooked books??
    - the list goes on.....

    The only way JD didnt do anythign illegal was if;
    1. Board members were signing off his ideas/plans etc.
    2. Board gave him free run and didnt check anything
    3. Board didnt do their jobs

Still a lot of answers to be got, supporters clubs, certain LOI clubs, regional FAs.....have to be audited and interrigated.

THIS IS NOT THE WORK OF ONE MAN...anyone who tries to sell it as that needs also to leave the FAI asap
