How’s all doing? I’ve my booking appt today. Mad how last time I had a load of questions to bring with me, and this time I’m like yea, can we just get this done ha

OMG Minnie, best of luck today !!

I feel a bit isolated these days. I don't feel great, although walking the last few mornings has felt nice, but overall I feel a bit green and emotional. I booked a private scan for next week, I will be 8+6 by then and really hope to see something. I know all these feelings are normal and show signs that things are progressing but I also wish I could skip to the fabulous energy and shiny hair part asap :)

So Minnie2017- how did your scan go.

I went for a early assessment scan on saturday and all is good with baba no 2- a fine heart beat and legs kicking mad. Making it more real.

Dixie Chick, I was like that last week. Am feeling a bit better this week but still not 100%. I’ve accepted that I’ll never been one of those ladies who love pregnancy so trying to make the best of it.

No scan today :( just had my booking appt in my local clinic and am in the hospital on Thursday for a scan.

It went fine, the usual questions, height, weight and bloods. I did find out which consultant I’m under and I’m bloody delighted. It’s the same one who assisted in my previous labour so happy days. She was a star.

Dove - has it hit yet how bloody busy we’re going to be come next summer with 2 under 2??

Had my first scan today, I’m only 8+6 - gah! This pregnancy is going to take approximately 3 years!!! I was 11 weeks by my dates, but i knew that wouldn’t be right, given my cycle length and dates. The doctor actually said “this pregnancy is going to be very long, isn’t it” and she’s right!
Anyhow, all looks good otherwise, but the scan wasn’t clear enough to give an accurate date, so I’ve to go back in a fortnight for another.
I was looking forward to telling people this week, but I’ll have to hold off a while now! And I had already convinced myself I had a little bump - a food bump though I’d say!!!

Aaargh jlm29, that’s so frustrating. Glad all else is good though. What’s your new guess date now?

We have our hospital scan this afternoon :) cannot wait

My date is roughly mid -July, but she’ll give me a proper due date when she scans me on the 27th. I can’t even remember the date she mentioned, I don’t think I took it in because I knew it would change again anyhow!

My wife is due the 6th of July, it's our 1st. I'm cautiously delighted if that makes sense.

Had our first scan the other week, hearing that heartbeat was a bit of a game changer!

First they came for the socialists...

I am 8 weeks today so booked a private scan. I am so nervous! I miscarried my first at 7 weeks and have a one year old too but still can't stop worrying.

Keeping fingers crossed for you, Loveinapril! I feel like going for a private scan, too next week, even though I had one last week

Scans are addictive! I have a (not pregnancy related) health thing that means I am considered high risk. I got scanned LOADS on my pregnancy with my son, I would say 20 times and I loved it!!

So love scans  little bean was happy out bouncing away for the sonographer

I had my scan, all looking well. Measuring a week behind but the positive test didn't show until a couple of days after my missed period so I could have ovulated later. With my son it was a strong positive 4 days before my period was due.

    Great news!! Such a relief.

    Hi all
    How are ye all today.
Yesterday rang Kerry University Hospital they wont be scanning me till mid Jan :(

Having some hassle at work- two of my work colleagues are running around like fools asking people if I am pregnant- called them out on it. One put their hands up, the other totally denied it and put it all about her- how she wants to set a meeting as it is a serious allegation. any questions I asked her she never answered so I just went back to her saying that I apologies for accusing her and I am incorrect- she has seriously burnt her bridges with me. and the funny thing is we got very close as my 1st baby and her 3rd baby was due a day apart. She was so persistent and I kept saying let it go.

So nice to see all scans going well. We are going for a private one next wednesday, cannot wait. The anxiety and excitement are on a same level.

Dove that is just a ridiculous carry on. Why must people insist on making someone say, or trying to find out before someone is ready to say ? That lady sounds draining and not good to be interracting with.

I am 8 weeks today. I finally started eating properly again too and am really feeling the benefit of that as my energy has risen a good bit.

Hi Dixie... ya she is just unreal reading the texts this morning I was still get annoyed and made however let her off. Funny thing about it I am a manager who would have say in the operations of her department- just so disrespectful.

Anyway so people who have not have their official scan are they going telling people over xmas. we are going staging a photoshot tonight myself and little one... will tell close friends and family.... I will be 12 weeks next thurs

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,062 ✭✭✭Dixie Chick

I have told my family and some close friends and my partner the same. I won't make any big announcement but I will tell people I am happy to tell if that makes sense.

I’ve told my mam, a friend, and my boss, as well as one work colleague that I work very closely with. I’m tempted to tell some other friends and family, now that I’ve had one scan and seen a heartbeat, but I think I’ll hold off until I have my next scan on the 27th.
My oldest boy told me this morning that he’d like if there were 4 boys in the house instead of three!

We have most people told now. Glad I won’t have to hide my tummy anymore thats for sure.

    How we all doing?

I’m a bit uncomfortable walking, I’ve had this on all my pregnancies, but not this early I think. I’m hoping it’s just everything loosening a bit, but that it will settle down soon enough. I know I’m a bit heavier now than the last time I was pregnant, (I blame breastfeeding, it was a constant excuse to eat more food). I’ve realised that I can’t afford to gain an ounce this pregnancy, wah!

Oh Jlm, do you mean your hips are sore is it?

I am thankfully not queasy anymore. I also got amazing vest with inbuilt bras from h&m for bed which are so comfortable! i love them!!
I will post a link if anyone is interested

I am very emotional at the moment. We put up our tree last night. I had been avoiding it as our cat who had to be put to sleep in October LOVED the tree and all the new things she could whomp about the place . So I had a good cry for the night. My poor partner must feel like I have been replaced by a lunatic !

Private scan on wednesday though , cannot wait but i am of course anxious too.

I have lost some weight as well but not my appetite is back I don't think this will continue much longer.

So hard to relax still though am constantly checking for bleeding.

I had my private scan yesterday. It was just so lovely to see the heartbeat and little limbs wriggling. Isn't it amazing that at 2.5cms they have all these parts already?I find it fascinating. So 9 weeks now and some pics to show relatives at Christmas.
