I don't get it. If they have something, charge the peado. What are they waiting for? Why are they making messy public statements? I don't see how this would flush anyone out.

Yes, it is puzzling alright. I don't know the answer except they may need corrobarative witnesses/proof and this might flush those people out or something.

This could take a few months to achieve anything, it's early days yet. We all want everything sorted yesterday.

I wonder is Interpol involved in any way, as I mentioned earlier. But maybe UK doing a Brexit might be an issue there. I know UK is technically still in EU until the end of the year, but I'm not sure if their involvement in Interpol will carry over if they hard Brexit. Someone else might know. Just musing out loud.

It is reality I'm afraid, but the coven will descend on me if I say any more.

Any comment on the liaising of the police forces?

What is reality? It is reality that you have no sympathy for the parents that had their 3 year old child taken from them, most likely by a paedophile. Do you not think there is something wrong with that?

I have no idea what’s going on with the police forces, I could guess like the rest of yis if you like?

I started reading this forum a few weeks ago and I haven’t seen one person say the McCanns leaving their kids in the apt alone was ok.. everyone knows it wasn’t ok.

I did say I was sorry that the parents lost their daughter. So what's your point?

No you didn’t. Not in the post I responded to.. you posted on a public forum that you have little sympathy for the parents of a child that was more than likely snatched by a paedophile.

I said that was harsh, and I asked did you not see something wrong with that. Then you back tracked and said you do feel sorry for them.

So you see I was questioning why you had no sympathy for them. That’s all

Has the letter arrived today? Have they arrested the peado yet? Is this another false dawn?

The amount of people who are waiting with twisted glee for this to fall on its arse is quite strange. Surely a right minded person, whatever line of the argument you fall on, would be hopeful that this might lead to something? Hopeful that there will be justice for Madeleine? No?

I mean, who knows.. it might come to a dead end. But hopefully it won’t. The rubbing of hands together waiting in the wings for this to fail so they can get back to blaming the McCann’s is really quite odd. This suspect is distracting them from the only thing they truly care about, blaming the parents.
Some people really don’t care about what might have happened to the poor girl. Quite shameful.

Hopefully. What I don’t understand is would it not be worth being wrong when it resulted in the guy who abducted her being caught? But nope. For some, screw justice or maybe being wrong about things, being right on the internet is of utmost importance and so that position must be defended at all costs.

Some people have been speculating as to why the German police have gone public with this. They're trying to draw people out is a thought some have. I'm not sure how they think this would work. This tactic would have no effect on the peado. Someone who knows him? Maybe it's a complete curveball and it's aimed at drawing someone out from the McCann camp or friends? Something strange is up with how they have communicated with them.

Why would they care what the parents did if they weren’t concerned about the child. That logic doesn’t work. Maybe we all just hate people who eat in tapas bars?

Personally I don’t understand how they can have concrete evidence she is dead yet not have enough to even raise a charge against this guy. The only thing I can think of is that they are playing this wild card in order to motivate people to turn against him. People who may have thought he was an abuser but were fairly dodgy themselves might think again if they believe he actually did murder a child. Hence the list of possible murders he’s been linked to all over the place.

It’s plain to see though that the only thing some people care about is not blaming the parents for callously leaving their child vulnerable to this and many more serious risks every night of their holiday.

The two are not mutually exclusive. They can have enough evidence to be certain that she is dead, but not enough to charge the suspect with her murder. Hence the public appeals for more info.

They might have found a photo of her or a video, obviously taken after she went missing. The photo would prove nothing other than a linkage.

If they have a photo or video of her, recovered from this guy's possession, I would say that's surely enough for them to bring charges.

And if these photos or video don’t show him in them all he’s guilty of is possession of child porn/snuff movie, illegal sure and would get him sentenced but it’s not sufficient proof murder

Easy peasy. These people can teleport and time travel, also vapourise bodies and delete all traces like Men in Black. Useful skillset!

    Bring charges of what?

If a peado ring was involved there might be a number of people with such pictures.

The pictures may have been sold at an exclusive dark web peado ring auction etc. (far fetched, but you know what I mean)

I don't think finding a a pic near his home would be enough to prove murder/abduction. Unless it was a selfie with her in it.

Grisly, but unfortunately possible. These circles are unutterably depraved.

Heard a podcast about the Dark Web once - skin crawling stuff. (And that was in a documentary that gave no detail and kept a professional tone)

Was that Hunting Warhead podcast? It was genuinely stomach churning. The things that go on that we have no idea of :(

But if he had photos of a high-profile missing child would he not be charged as an accessory to a crime, possession of child pornography, perverting the course of justice or arrested as a suspect in a conspiracy to commit a crime? It’s just strange.

He may not have had anything in his possession. They may have separate evidence that she is dead and the case around him not strong enough to charge him with being the one who did it. It’s a curious situation for sure

No he wouldn't. He doesn't have to say a thing. A photo is not proof of death or unless it's a certain 'type' of photo, it may not indicate a crime either.

Why are you assuming the photo needs to be child pornography? It might be of a child in pajamas.

Even if he did say something, it might be along the lines of 'I was drunk, I found her wandering on the beach that night and took her home and took the photo. The next morning I was walking her to town when a van pulled up and a couple of gypsies said they would take her to the police station for me so I left her with them and turned around and walked home.'

Yes, the police could ask a million 'why didn'ts' but they have to prove he's lying and that something else that was a crime happened and that he committed it.

No, it was an Audible podcast called The Dark Web, by Geoffrey White and someone else. Covered all aspects from the beginning of the hidden Web - lots of drug sales, for instance.
The "child porn" was only one chapter and they touched on it quite lightly. Interviewing cops, and so forth.
Even so - talk about a very squeamish eye-opener!!

Apparently there are paedophile "boards" (like this one, sort of!) but very secret. To gain admission the new member has to post some new content - a video or photo not seen before. The implications of this are too sickening to even think about for any length of time.

It was an interesting podcast, if a bit lightweight. I had no stomach for that particular chapter, though. Or for quite some time after
