    I've seen various bits of the Irish Health Service in the last year, but wherever I go, I see one common theme: every appointment comes with a lecture about people missing appointments. Dire warnings about dropping patients and/or appeals about wasted resources and patients who could be seen sooner. Then you go, and there are posters on the walls about DNA (Did Not Attend) patients.

    Is it really that bad - people getting appointments to see specialists or get tests with long waiting lists, but don't bother showing up or calling to cancel or reschedule? Maybe it's just my position "on the spectrum", but I do not miss appointments, ever. If that happened, it would mean that something fairly disastrous has happened to me. :eek:
