Yep right beside the router. I have sky Q and fibre broadband. Had the same issue. Came across a piece where a guy was trying to connect a 2.4ghz wireless camera and was told to do this. Gave it a shot and worked second or third time. You can then unplug the socket an put it in its correct location and will remember the setup.

Ewelink is the app to use. It’s available on play store and App Store. It’ll prompt you through the steps when opened, but as above, might be best to set it up when right beside your router

Using an iPhone on Virgin BB and unable to pair these through Ewelink.

I solved this by using my son's Android phone to pair. It now works on the iphone.

The code can only be used 2 times per customer account.
I guess register a new account and order again is the way to go.

Mine came this morning. Set up with Google home within a few minutes.

Just setup with the ewlink app and account first. Then set up your plug(s).

Go into Google home app, click on home controls, then click add button in bottom right. Then choose "smart we link". Just log in to your account and it will add it to your google home.

Having same trouble as you Pocaide.

@Jofspring do you have Google Home devices? I don't, but have Google Home app with Chromecast etc. I was hoping to use Google Assistant via phone but now I wonder if you need a Google Home device in order even for the Home Control option to appear?

One thing that tripped me up, briefly, was that that I was looking to add Ew link which doesn't appear in the alphabetical list. It's smart link, as mentioned above.

So is a Google Home device needed? I can't get anywhere with just the Home app on the phone.

Home app on phone working for me earlier m8, was able to turn the kettle on without getting up

Think that seems to be it @SBS. Same scenario for me on both my phone's. No option in the GH menu to add Home Control or Home Control devices. Here's a screenshot from my phone, assume you're us the same?

I've the same problem as I don't have a Home device and the only way I could add anything was to say "OK Google" the say "Open Home Control Settings" and you get an option to select Settings. Open that and you can add devices, have used it for adding Hue and other Sonoff Plugs I have.

You need to open the Google app not the Google home app on your phone.

Tried this approach. When I get to settings I see devices, only device showing is my phone, don't see any way to add other devices ...

*Update* above was on a work phone. Tried on different phone (same Google account, same WiFi, same eWeLink, same Sonoff plugs) and could see Home Control.

Now all installed but not on work phone. Msybe there is a work account restriction or something.

Yep it does but I just leave the kettle switched on and the sonoff off, added the sonoff to google home control and changed its nickname to Kettle, then just say OK google turn on the kettle
