They've really been working on their choreography, that was the most uniform Haka I've seen yet.

Oh god. Hope that's not a sign of things to come.

I heard the haka is all they bothered doing in training this week. Should be fresh for this one.

Good few handling errors so far. God I can't wait for the match in November

Class from Ben Smith after a beautiful pass from Taylor

Clinical. Although you can see SA are focusing on defence, you still get the feeling they're susceptible to a line break.

    Ben smith... Nuff said

Two forward passes in that SA try. Nicely taken though.

    That one seemed pretty happy!

Looked like NZ knocked on in the tackle then blatantly holding on in the ruck

How did touch judge miss that spill.

Did it even go forward? Was there even a tackle once the loose ball was won?

Beauden Barrett needs lessons from Ross Byrne. :D

SA getting some crazy luck. Can't see it lasting.

Their putting the All Blacks under a lot of pressure, even in defence the hits are absolutely monstrous.

Some absolutely ridiculous play from the All Blacks, trying too hard and it's given South Africa a platform.

Still only see this game going one way, but it's not been a tidy first half from the home team.

Edit: and no luck about that try!

SA need another try to have any kind of a chance in this game. They're doing well so far, but can't let the ABs in or it's game over.

It's starting to look a bit like the NFL with the amount of forward passes both sides are getting away with.

I don't feel like they're applying any major pressure. They're trying to tackle hard, but the All Blacks are having no problems making ground.

The All Blacks just have very little respect for SA. They won't pull a lot of this stuff in the Autumn Internationals.

Forward passes obviously don’t count for either side. Well worked try there

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,381 ✭✭✭✭prawnsambo

Jesse Kriel made a bollocks of that.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,381 ✭✭✭✭prawnsambo

Got some of that back. Going to be an interesting second half.

Good half even if the standard is quite poor by usual standards. Still think Blacks will win by 10

The kicks really need to be taken off Beauden Barrett. He is striking the ball quite well but just getting the angle a bit off. I notice he also has the ball at a bit of an angle on the tee. Most kickers just have it in a vertical line. Jordie at FB would be a better kicker you would think.

    Good contest in fairness.

Regardless of how this match finishes, I reckon we might have just witnessed the 40 minutes of rugby that secures Sexton the world player of the year award.
B Barrett is his only competition for it imo, and that was a bad opening half for him.

A little hyperbolic possibly but the them's me thoughts!

I wouldn't say that at all. Some of his steps and passes have been superb.

    This might be for real....

    Some, sure.
But his kicking and that woeful effort at a quick throw in?
Again I'm speaking in the context of World Player of the year mind.

    Wow!!

Crazy stuff. Never 10 back from the quick tap, and was allowed to play on. Once again the All Blacks handing it away.

Got boks to win @2/1 at half time.....

    That was Jordie, not Beaudan.

Inaccuracies like that will let the ABs back in

Pure class. Him, Smith and Murray are the best three in the world.

If the Boks don't win this I'll be gutted. They've been magnificent.

Have South Africa gotten a lot better, are the All Blacks just having a bad day or is this an effort to keep the Rugby Championship relevant by just throwing the game.

    I've no ideally personally!

South Africa aren't a good side, but have raised their game to a level a haven't seen from them in ages.
